He is Lord!: On the phone, "Hey Cortana. Open Logos and search the NIV, Jesus BEFORE 2 WORDS Christ." Besides Cortana integration, I would really like to see what Logos could do with a "universal app" on Windows 10. If you have the Windows 10 beta, open the Photo app and resize it and watch what happens. You will see what it will look like on a phone

alabama24: I don't understand your point, unless you are equating mobile with computing devices. Microsoft has 90% of the desktop market. There are over 1 billion of them running Windows. "But what if you include phones, tablets, Apple, Android, Linux, etc?” Well, around 55% of the world’s computing devices generating web traffic run Windows. Is there

I am sorry for the length of this post, but it seems in only in this forum maybe once every two years. Also there will be less need to be here in the future as I shifted my book fund over to another Bible study app earlier this year that does have a Windows Store App and supports x86, x64, and ARM, so I'm not as concerned about a Logos app now. But

I just found this topic after posting along similar lines in another topic. Not knowing who will read that other one about Android versus Windows, I'll post again here as this seems to be an important discussion. Go to http://gs.statcounter.com/ , select Operating System, All Platforms. Add up Windows 8 and 8.1. The latest collected statistics on internet

Sorry, go to http://gs.statcounter.com/ , select Operating System, All Platforms. So I still don't understand the "wait for market share" comment from Logos. Eventually more of those 1.5 billion Windows users will have a version of Windows that supports Windows Store Apps (the Modern UI), whether on a Phone, Tablet or Desktop. (The One Product Family

    > Logos only has a crippled "mobile'"app for windows. I wonder why. The latest statcounter numbers show Win8 at 14%, iOS 12%, Android 17% across all devices over the last year. I wonder what the plan is for a Logos app on Win8? (Sorry. I know the topic is about Win vs. Android mobile, but I just happened to see this -- and was wondering.)

  • Re: Revamped Improved Surface RT application?

IDC predicts (with all the dangers inherent in that) of 7.4% next year, and I think 10% in 2015. Too late for me... There were benefits of the Microsoft business software platform (beyond simple Excel and Word) such that having a smartphone which integrated into that platform was compelling. So I type this a Windows 8 desktop with 3 monitors (try that

  • Re: Revamped Improved Surface RT application?

Granted that the Surface RT has not sold well at this point, but there are other devices using ARM, and I'm not sure that you could say their sales are miniscule. For example the Windows 8 Phone has sold 8.7 million devices so far in 2013, an increase of around 78% over the previous period last year, and is now in the number 3 spot for smart phone sales

Which is why it was phrased as a question... I know the original question was about RT alone, but I am wondering if there is a larger question here, if perhaps the question might be then when will Logos support Windows on ARM, whether Surface RT or smartphone? Or am I missing something else? Thank you for the pointer to the app. I don't remember seeing

Isn't the point that the "modern UI" defines Window 8 and Microsoft's future direction, and "Windows 8 market share surpasses all versions of OS X combined": ( http://www.techspot.com/news/53854-windows-8-market-share-surpasses-all-versions-of-os-x-combined.html ) So should the question be, when will Logos support the "modern UI", including Surface

  • Re: Cheapest OS for Parallels

Before considering OEM anything, read the following: http://www.microsoft.com/About/Legal/EN/US/IntellectualProperty/UseTerms/Default.aspx and for OEM system builder licensing: http://oem.microsoft.com/script/contentpage.aspx?pageid=552816 Make sure you understand what it means to be a OEM system builder. Don't try to circumvent the legalities. Do not

  • Re: Cheapest OS for Parallels

That is correct. An OEM license is tied to the machine it was sold with. It cannot legally be transferred, no matter what a web site might say. You cannot ship a cable or disk drive or other part of the original system with the OEM "recovery disk" and transfer the license. The license must stay with the original system. Yes, Microsoft tends to look

Interesting. I had the same problem with several previous upgrades too. Yes, Run as Admin seems like a good thing to try, although it did not work for me in a previous upgrade. (What did work was directly executing the Logos4.msi in the UpdateManager folder.) I will have to wait and see if doing Jeff's folder copy idea this time will put an end to these

Jeff, thanks for the tip. That resolved the same error on my Windows 7 system. It was odd, I could add all permissions for "Everybody" on the whole folder tree, propogating all the way done, and the install would still fail. I copy the whole Logos4 folder to another folder and it works in the new folder.

Hum. Not why, but how? How did you get all your books into an HTML file, with embedded links to libronixdls? It must be automated! I don't even know how to get a bibliographic listing saved out with Logos 4. A suggestion: put a count of the books at the top of your page, and maybe a warning about page load time. You have got a lot of books!

Interesting. Mine is going the opposite direction. If all the Logos products were "community priced", I would be buying a lot more. As it is, I have to look to less expensive alternatives; sometimes notes taken from paper books that are put into HTML format and imported with Personal Book Builder (Logos 3). How did you get the bookshelf look with "View

Never mind. I got it to work by running the setup exe in the Installers\1 folder. I do not know what the real problem was and why I was getting "Error 1310 ... System error 0. Verify that you have access to that directory." for all these files (according to the Event Manager).

How about if you get "Error writing to file: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Logos4\Logos4.exe" just about as soon as the "copy files" part of the install starts? If I rename the existing file, then there is another different one, and then another, etc. I even granted Everyone Full access to this folder structure and I still have the same problem. This
