• Problems with Biblical People, Places and Things

Yesterday, while studying Ezra 9:1-15 from my custom Passage Guide, I noticed that "Biblical People" didn't have any hits. Biblical Places and Things both did, however. At the same time, I could still open Biblical People from the Tools menu and use it. Basically, my problem was that Biblical People wasn't being accessed by my Program Guide. So I started

Thanks guys... I'll try both ideas later tonight.
I get biblical people hits for lots of people groups - Moabites, Perizzites, Jebusites, Hittites etc; and the Levites
Would anyone have any guesses as to why I don't get similar results? To clarify... I own the Scholar's Library. By the way, I noticed the same thing last week as well, when studying 1 Kings 8:22-53 (no hits

  • Biblical People not showing anything?

I'm studying Ezra 9:1-15 and I receive data under both Biblical Places and Biblical Things. However, I receive no data under Biblical People. I find this odd. I would at least think that Ezra would show up? Could someone please check your own Biblical People, under Ezra 9:1-15, and tell me what you get? Thanks.

Thank-you everybody for your thoughts (and even your opinions ). As I type, my new Dell Studio XPS 16 is "in production." Here's what I ended up with...
So Michael - you need to check on video - best to have a separate video card over using on-board video.
My understanding was that the HD 4670 - 1GB video card was "dedicated" as opposed to "integrated" - though I'm not sure if this is what you mean by having a separate video card. The configs above are from a Dell

  • Computer Comparison (Your thoughts please...)

I'm looking at two different Dell laptop configurations. Which of these two processor/memory combos would be better for the average computer user running Logos 4? Both would have Win 7 64bit and an HD 4670 - 1GB video card. 1. Processor = Core 2 Duo P8800 2.66GHz 3MB Cache . . . Memory = 6GB DDR3 at 1067MHz 2. Processor = Core i7-720QM 1.6GHz (2.8GHz

  • Re: Printing notes

Just adding to the list... I wanted to copy a very long article from a Bible dictionary. Selecting the text was a slow and tedious process - it was taking a long time to scroll through the article. So, I thought I'd try to use 'Control-A' but that didn't work. What made it worse was that the person I wanted to print the article for was sitting right

  • Re: Simple Question about "Interesting Words" & "Topics" Clouds

For me, the biggest issue is the size. I could handle the cloud if I could read it. I'm just wondering what everybody does when they want to use this feature. I assume everyone just resizes, or floats, the panel? I guess I just wanted to make sure that I'm not missing something silly like a little button that says "expand cloud," or something similar

  • Simple Question about "Interesting Words" & "Topics" Clouds

When you open the "Interesting Words" and/or "Topic" links you get the colorful grouping of, well, interesting words and/or topics (you already know this). My problem is that I can't even begin to read these words/topics unless I expand or float the panel. In L3, you get a list of words/topics - a list that you can read without having to rearrange your

  • Re: Note filenames vs. Clipping filenames?
Have you watched Mark Barnes videos on creating a sermon? He shows how he uses Clipping and Notes, somewhere in there. Most find that it is an excellent video series (and its not that long). Preparing a Sermon with Logos: Part 1: Setting Up a Layout Part 2: Making Notes Part 3: Exegesis Part 4: Sermon Outline
Wow

  • Re: Problems with Notes
I am doing it just like you said Jonathan, and it is not showing up in the other translations. Any idea why not? I'm pretty sure it did in the past. So maybe something is just wrong with mine. My secondary question though is, does everyone else have notes from multiple note files that show up in every translation

  • Note filenames vs. Clipping filenames?

I'm really just now beginning to learn and use the notes and clipping features on Logos. (I would love to see a video that goes beyond the 'how to' of using notes/clippings and see one of how some of you actually use them in your everyday studies.) I've noticed that L4 doesn't distinguish note names from clipping names. For example, I created a note

imo, the topic search falls way short of L3 I use my 'favorites' menu for a number of things, and this is one... I have a folder with my favorite Bible dictionaries in it.

Thanks Mark. I'm a fan of Cambria. I just thought I'd report it as a possible bug, but it makes sense that some older fonts won't always work.
Hi Michael - I think you are correct. My download was 88 MB, Leader's Level plus some other resources.
I have the Scholar's Library - I can't remember the size of my download, although I'm grateful for every byte of it!

I am right in assuming that we may or may not see all of those new resources, depending on which version of Logos Bible software we own?

  • Font Issue: SansSerif

I changed my default font to SansSerif and noticed a problem - apostrophes and quotations are replaced by rectangular boxes. When I change back to default font it looks normal, so I assume it's not an issue with the resource (My Utmost for His Highest).
