• Re: Too many commentaries on sale right now
No complaining from me! On second thought, maybe a little. When I mention a good deal to my wife, she sweetly says, "Of course Honey, anything that you really need is fine." She is so sweet and supportive. So then I have to buy her flowers, and a microwave and I can't think of anything else to buy her. Ideas? I still "need" a few

Hi Sean, I'm not sure what you are using the notes and clippings for, but since you mentioned "work flow" then I will tell you how I use it for sermon prep. I do not use the notes tool when I am researching. I would rather use the clippings tool and if I need to make a note, I use the notes section at the bottom of the clipping. I will tag each clipping
It is really convenient to be able to come to the Logos forum and shop for appliances, bathroom fixtures and TV sets while discussing the ins and outs of using Logos software! Gotta love spammers. I suspect God does . . .
What a funny coincidence. I was getting ready to write my sermon this morning for this
My weakness in preaching is application. So, I am always on the lookout for resources/guides/books that help with application. I have the NIV Application series as well as the Sermon Outline bible......what other resources would you recommend...or have you found helpful?
The NIVAC is helpful for application if
When looking at a word's Morphology, what is the easiest way to get a definition of a morphology part such at imperative or Perfect? • Re: Printable Boolean List?
Dear Logos users - I've looked online here for a printable list of search terms to use for Logos 7 searching. I know a few by heart, but I would like to have a list handy for more detailed ones. Does anyone know where I can get a list of search terms (is it called a Boolean list?) that is printable? Hope this makes sense. Thanks

I have never used this resource before. What would set it apart from Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary or Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary? I'm trying to decide if the value would enhance or compliment what I already have.
Ok, so thoughts on comparing the Zondervan Biblical Theology set (4 vol) with the IVP Biblical Theology set (5 vol). Comparisons and contrasts? Strengths and weaknesses? Thanks!
That is one tough choice. I have heard good things about Waltke's Old Testament theology in Zondervan and I have heard good things about Goldingay
Thank you Doc B for your insight. I especially share concern on the 5th topic. The one thing that I have learned to do is my morning devotions are only based on the Word and prayer. I do not use any commentaries or any other tools during that time. One question I have for you on the MP Logos Camp, do they give you DVDs as

So I thought maybe I should try Accordance. I mostly am looking for commentaries to research and ready future sermons. Questions were all useful and your reply much appreciated

Psalms (p. 69). San Bernardino, CA: Here’s Life Publishers, Inc. I used the word study function but still don't clearly see the difference

  • Re: How to find the difference between two Hebrew words?

If you look in the interlinear you can see that "waits" in Verse 1 is not in the original Hebrew but was added by the translation team. I suspect they added it to match verse 5 (where "wait" translates a Hebrew word) to try and make the two lines parallel in the English. Hopefully someone with more knowledge of Hebrew then me will comment on this.

  • Re: Accountability in your studies

I think this is more a human problem then a Logos problem. I have used reading plans in the past and have never stuck to them. If I want to go down another path I simply ignore the reading plan no matter how much it shows I am behind. There is no accountability to a machine when one can simply turn it off. I have found the human factor is the only accountability
