@Bradley, ...if one uses the new Notes tool as part of a Connect subscription, and then that Connect subscription runs out before Logos 8 Basic is available, could not that leave someone without access to Notes taken in the new tool?
Is anyone able to confirm if this would be the case?

That's VERY handy -- thanks for pointing that out! I find the "popular highlights" quite distracting, for some reason, and I've turned them off again and again in different individual resources. I just now turned them off in ALL resources, thanks to your tip. Many thanks!
If you make extensive notes/highlights in L8 using the new Notes tool, they will not be available on the old/current Notes system. So if you use the Connect upgrade, you should elect to use the old Notes (type set prefer notes tool to NO in Command/GO box). Then they will be migrated to the new tool.
Are you saying

Oh, for crying out loud! I apologize to all who've generously tried to help me! I was reading the BI101 course in the "Course Tool," and the "Suggested Reading" texts were not links, but just text, as if they were part of the course. When I opened up the course itself outside of the Course Tool, I saw how these "Suggested Readings" were links to resources

Well, first, I apologize. I just tried again opening the BI101 course without the Courses Tool, and this time the Visual Filters button IS there! I honestly am positive it just wasn't there before, but after closing and re-opening Logos 8, now I see it. However... under Visual Filters, there is no Resource item for "popular highlights!" Under Resource

Thanks for the reply! I just went there, and I see nothing about highlights at all. I see "Show Community Ratings," and "Show Community Tags," but both of them seem exclusively to apply to books in the library. Is there something in the Program Settings that I am misunderstanding? BTW, every time I hit the Post button for this forum, either nothing

I just got Logos 8, am beginning the BI101 course, and find the popular highlights distracting, and want to hide them. But the "Visual Filters" button you show above is not there! Either in the Courses Tool, or just opening the course itself directly, there is NO "Visual Filters" button in this course. Is there another way to hide these distracting
Have you decided what you will move too?
I really should have clarified by what I mean when I said, "moving away". As I have a lot of resources tied up in Logos, it will still have a permanent place on my mac, ios and android devices. However, I will not be looking to purchase new resources. Your question really depends

I've cancelled my Connect subscription and it expires next month. Any idea what happens if I use the Connect upgrade to 8 and then my subscription runs out. Does everything downgrade to 7 again?

Many of us have it set this way because of one too many automatic updates at inopportune times.
Yes, you are correct. I do apologise. For some reason I missed
Logos and Verbum are personal database applications, which are designed to be opened (and used) a lot so startup/shut down takes awhile. As much as I appreciate the idea of keeping logos open all the time, this really does not fix it's architecture. You shouldn't have to leave it open! I run a lot of applications and close those not necessary for the task in hand. When I set myself 2 hours for sermon prep I don't expect Logos to take 30 minutes of that to get itself going. I run emacs

Sorry to dredge up an old topic, but the speed of Logos is becoming unbearable. I made the mistake of telling it not to use the internet, but when you connect (for me a week later), the update and reindexing has take 25 min (25% complete) so far and is completely frustrating. I also noticed that without the internet a good 8 features are greyed out

Many thanks, this has helped. Is Faithlife Ebooks a better reading app than logos? Does it provide a better experience? I've only ever used Logos as a reader app as there are quite a number of areas where I do not have internet and nearly all of the Logos app features require internet access.

Can someone please explain the point of the different apps? I've downloaded Faithlife Ebooks and most of my Logos library does not appear in this app. Why would I want another app from the same company that does not allow me to see my whole library? Are purchases made in Faithlife Ebooks added to the Logos library? It's obviously not happening the other

It has always had a reputation for running poorly on

  • Sermon Builder (Logos) Woes

I've been trying to use the sermon builder, but to be honest it is far from being prime time. Here are some of my frustrations: 1. It is impossible to create uniformity with slide creation. You can apply the slide to all other slides, but this does not include the positioning of the text. You also cannot move the text using your keyboard which is completely
