• Re: L7 Speed on a Mac

I don't use complicated layouts. Even with the blank layout it takes 15-20 seconds to start up. If I've not use Logos in a while it can take 30s+. What I'm really after is whether L7 solves this.

  • L7 Speed on a Mac

I'm on a new iMac 27 with 32GB RAM. Logos 6 is awful. The time it takes to sign in, prepare library and synchronise is absolutely woeful. I'm looking to upgrade to L7, but need some assurances that it won't be slower. I also have Accordance and very often start Logos 6 and while I'm waiting boot up Accordance 11 find what I'm looking for close Accordance

I think these are all good reason to contemplate before you jump. It seems quite a number of folks have various applications they use. Some are legacy so Olivetree was one of the first on iOS so is still on my system and is extremely good. The difficulty is that you end up buying the same resources in other software increasing your outlay. Plus it's
I'm hinting at the fact that learning an alphabet is not a primary function of Logos
I'm not sure it's that easy. The primary function happens to be what you need to use it for most and this obviously changes over time. Logos would disagree with you as they have invested in m.Ed and Logos functionality to make learning

That's not entirely true. It all depends on what you need for your context. Logos likes to bundle things. So for example if you decide you want the Greek Alphabet tutor which costs about $4 you'll find it only in a bundle. This means it'll cost a couple of hundred dollars to purchase. If you're wanting to build your own collection Logos is a very expensive

As someone mentioned, "If you can afford it" . In my opinion Logos and saving money do not go together. You do have to look at the long haul. You can build up a terrific library with Logos that'll last you years. You do however, need to understand that this will cost you. Just the crossgrades between versions are $200 plus. Logos also likes to place

I tweeted two quotes this morning only to find that logos malformed the tweets. I've attached two images to the problem links: Can Logos please fix this?

I use both Logos and Accordance, I'm reading this thread because I'm finding Logos inordinately slow on Macbook and ipad. After upgrading to io7 it took me 40 min to download my accordance resources (2GB). With logos I've waited 30 minute and so far nothings been downloaded. It doesn't help that logos gives no indicator of what's downloading which is

Gosh, it seems odd that Logos would still have pages that look current that don't state what version of Logos they are, and are NOT valid for. I just searched the Logos site for help on lectionaries and navigated to that page. Many thanks for giving me the correct information! I'll look into those. A quick glance makes it look like it's still going

  • Lectionary file location, lectionary xml reference?

I read the article on creating one's own lectionary (http://www.logos.com/training/Lectionary), and realistically, it looks like so much work that I'm probably not going to do it, anyway. But I can't even fool around with a beginning attempt because the instructions say to locate it in a lectionaries folder in the “Libronix DLS” folder in my Documents

It's fairly pointless posting to a forum that then takes 18 hours to approve your post. The thread has moved on and the moment is lost.

I first used Libronix and gradually migrated over to Logos. However, my journey with Logos has not been a pleasant one. Sadly, I'm also in the position of being frustrated with Logos4 and looking at the tech specs for 5 there's no way I will upgrade as 4 is painfully slow. This year I made a decision and purchased Accordance. Logos is now unused except

There are the obvious options: 1. Buy a new super quad core mac 2. Buy more RAM (limited on old laptops) 3. Don't upgrade I've opted for option 3. I'm using Logos less and less simply because it takes sooooooooo long to do anything. I'm on an old 2007 MacBookPro. It has 4GB RAM. I noticed Logos 5 suggests 6GB. What I cannot understand is that my Adobe
