• Re: Really Frustrated with Trying to Download From Monday

Mine downloads a little bit and then stops. The indexer (at this point just downloading, not indexing) begins taking up a lot of CPU cycles and heats up the processor. I then cancel the download and restart Logos to begin downloading again. Sometimes it starts, sometimes I have to restart Logos again. Started this process last night. So far I started

FYI: If you are going to do multiple payment plans, call Logos and they will combine them under one payment plan.

  • Suggestion: Gisbertus Voetius Translation

According to Joel Beeke, "Voetius was to the Nadere Reformatie (usually translated as the Dutch Second Reformation) what John Owen, often called the prince of the Puritans, was to English Puritanism." Who else would like to see the works of Voetius translated for Logos Bible Software?

Alright, I found the resource using the the export/compare approach (even though the compare for some reason found a lot of changes, I was able to find the one). The * ANDNOT mytag:comptest is working now. I had used the * and typed ANDNOT in capitals in the Library search when I tested it before but it didn't remove anything. Perhaps I had a typo.

I mean that when I type the command "andnot mytag:comptest" on the PC (after the sync on first Mac then PC) it shows 0 resources.

Great idea with the tagging. However, no results are shown. Strange.

  • Re: One more resource available on PC than Mac

Typing the command in the command box brought up the search box anyways. But typing the command in the search box yields the same 10 resources. The 10 resources listed have nothing to do with rebuilding the index, but are produced using the command suggested. My entire library is showing fine except for my Mac shows 1 less than my PC, otherwise everything

I do not have Verbum. Typing "edition:logos" into the Command box yield 10 resources under "Topic" (Search All Text in Entire Library): Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible The New Bible Dictionary, Third Edition Eerdmans Dictionary of the Bible Dictionary of Deities and Demons in the Bible The HarperCollins Bible Dictionary (Revised and Updated) Harper

I do not think that I have made any personal books. Tools > Personal Books is empty. edition:logos lists 10 resources on both PC and Mac. edition:user lists 0 resources.

  • One more resource available on PC than Mac

Is it normal to have one more resource available in the PC version of Logos than the Mac version? My PC version shows 5,944 resources while my Mac version shows 5,943. *EDIT* - Currently running the command "Update Resources" on my mac. *FOLLOW-UP EDIT* - The "Update Resources" command did not find any additional resources.

  • Re: Mac OS X - High CPU Usage

The problem has occurred for me since early 2013 (see my original post date), months before Mavericks. I do notice that it occurs more often when I am using the internet through my iPad, so there does seem to be a networking issue involved. Also, Armin's problem description looks no different from the problem I have been experiencing.
I have four cores, not eight.
Four physical cores, but eight virtual cores due to hyper threading. Which would mean that max CPU usage for your computer would be 800%. Mine has two physical cores, but four virtual cores, and the Logos CPU usage when this glitch occurs is usually between 100-300%.

The high cpu usage has been noted by many on numerous threads. It has given me problems for months and only since upgrading to Mavericks has the problem seemed to improve (I have only had one occurrence since upgrading to Mavericks).
