• Re: Is Logos 5 an improved program for Mac Users?

Can't say I've noticed any speed improvement. My mac is older though, 2009 MBP.

Dewayne, I am reposting your post with some formatting to make it easier to read. Please don't take offense. I normally don't take time to post. I think they call it a stalker? I have used Logos/Series X/Libronix/Logos 4 for quite a long time. I always manage to upgrade to the next level when new releases come out. But this release is unlike any other

Could someone explain what the difference is between crossgrading my L4 Scholar's Library vs upgrading to the L5 Starter package?

  • Duck Duck Go / Biblia search plugin

Duck Duck Go ( http://duckduckgo.com) is an up and coming search engine. They have just announced a way to add plugins to the search, allowing us to customize and add functionality to the search. There are some examples here: http://duckduckhack.com/ One of the suggested plugin projects for people to write was a bible verse lookup. Naturally I thought

  • Re: SSD Drive + Logos 4 Mac = Speed?

What is your system configuration? laptop/desktop, disk info, amount of ram... On my system, macbook pro 13" with 8GB of ram, I don't find logos to be disk bound most of the time. If it's indexing, then yes, but otherwise not really. It does "hitch" every now and then when scrolling through a resource as it pulls in more data. I expect an SSD would

  • Re: Time Machine and Logos indexer DO NOT like each other!

Time Machine runs once an hour; It also will backup after the computer wakes from sleep if it's been more than an hour since last backup. Input/Output operations are one of the slowest things in our computers. If Logos is indexing, there is a lot of hard drive activity. When you add Time Machine, you are at least doubling that, and to make things worse

I mostly use the mac version and I don't believe it has the 3D view yet. Good info none-the-less, thanks.
Your Console Messages log doesn't go back far enough to let me see what the problem is; can you reproduce this crash?
What would cause that to happen? Did the log file rollover? My mac keeps the last 3 or 4 when it rolls them over.

  • Re: No gui action

I don't know if you all have the time or inclination to try this, but we could test the hypothesis that it had something to do with syncing from a windows install. What I can do is refrain from using my mac copy, then load up my windows copy of Logos, add or a shortcut or something, and sync it. Then someone in your office could do a clean install of

  • Alpha 25 Scrolling speed/responsiveness is much improved :)

It's been great to see the impovement as the alpha comes along. The last couple hadn't worked for me due to the issue now resolved in the "no gui action" thread, so I don't know if the improved scrolling speed showed up in one of the last couple builds, but it's great for me now. Great work Mac team! --Scott

  • Re: No gui action

So the file itself looked ok structurally (to my eyes anyway)... maybe it was something that was synced from my windows version (xp in fusion). I'm pretty sure that I deleted the entire logos4 folder in Application Support before I installed alpha 25, and since I never successfully had panels come up in the gui I don't think the shortcuts in the db

  • Re: No gui action

Nothing really happens when I try to do anything with guides or the home button. The buttons and the menus are responsive but either the target action isn't being called, or something is disconnected with interacting with the gui. I'll see if I can figure out how to do a screencast.
