Ken. . .pls keep in mind that once this timeout issue is fixed you will still encounter a whole host of other issues as this is Alpha software. You will be still not be happy if you are expecting parity with the L4/Win or even full functionality. You will still get crashes, things not working, missing features, etc. . .

  • Re: Still no luck with Logos for Mac

Marcos is correct but it will require spending additional $ to get it running on Windows/Mac. Minimum config includes a Windows license for bootcamp ($100) and if he wants to run it under vmware/parallels another $80 or so. . .

  • Found a way to increase speed of Logos 4Win under Fusion

Decided to try and install bootcamp for kicks and ended up not being able to do it because my large Fusion image was fragmented (bootcamp is picky). The solution from Apple was to backup the hard drive, reformat, and restore the backup image. This will result in your entire disk being consolidated with no fragments. i did this and have noticed that

  • Re: Still no luck with Logos for Mac

You asked: "Any suggestions?". Yes, don't use an Alpha product if you expect it to work regularly and with full function. You said you spent $700. . .surely you know that most of the features aren't even avail in the Mac version yet? Logos for Mac is months away from the type of stability necessary to use it as you primary tool. That will not change

  • Re: New notes placed in middle of notes file?

Here is the scenario: 1. Open (or create) a notes file. 2. The new note entries are not added to the bottom of the file. Nor are they added around in reference order. 3. Specific example - I have a note file on Ephesians Study that I have been making notes in as I work thru the book. There are some 15 entries for Chapter 1. I create a new note tied

  • New notes placed in middle of notes file?

When I have an existing notes file and select a piece of text and then add it to the file, Logos inserts it in the middle of the document (give or take). . .? I could understand the beginning or the end but in the middle? To be specific, lets say I have 10 entries in the file and the last one is on I just finished. I go back to the text (any) and select

  • Re: How to re-write and release a replacement product.

I have said more about development than I normally divulge; for those who disagree with me, you are disagreeing with 30+ years of 100% success . The reason I usually do not discuss SW development is because I prefer to keep what and how I do what I do to myself in order to maintain a competitive advantage. So if I appear to be a little ***, it is because

  • Re: Timeframe for full implementation of Logos 4 Mac?

Interesting. . .I posted a timeline last week that was 2 months to beta then another 4-6 months for GA (May 2010) and a logos staffer responded (politely) that my timelines were probably too long. I didn't think so then and don't know. If Bob is saying six months then. . .we should plan on 6-9 months - seriously. This is not a knock on him or anyone

"I share your frustration and as a long time Logos user and supporter I have a deep sense of betrayal." Wow. It's a piece of software. "deep betrayal" because they changed a product in a way that you don't like. . .? Logos did nothing unethical or, well, do anything to justify such an over reach in language. If you truly feel "deeply" betrayed then

  • Re: Indexing Toll On Hardware

One thing to keep in mind is that all this indexing in the alpha versions may need to be done again for various betas and then the release. I am sure they (Logos) will try and keep this to a minimum but the reality is that once this goes gold it may require additional rebuilds.. .

My guess is beta in 2-4 months and final release in 4-6 months. Think May 2010 for final release.

  • Logos 4 on VMWare. . .very fast!

So, after seeing some of the complaints on speed and extra efforts to make it faster i was a bit apprehensive about running under Fusion until the Mac goes live. . .but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it runs. I did no extra anything - same old 2.0 image I have used for miscellaneous things, older Macbook Pro 2.4 with 2GB RAM. It runs fast, stable

The ones I was interested in where all extras - commentary sets, etc. Stuff that I know doesn't come in the base package (at least the one I have). Like Macarthur's commentary set, etc.
