• Re: While I wait for the L5 Cross Grade options...
Dude!! If your already planning on buying Lange's, just get the Bronze L5 its included and will cost you less! At least it will cost me less.
Thanks, Evan. At this point, I'm not "planning" on anything specific...just trying to get some recommendations for commentaries. I do hope to do a cross grade to the L5 Silver

  • While I wait for the L5 Cross Grade options...

When L5 first launched I began the important task of preparing my wife for the possibility of having to spend as much as $400 to upgrade to L5. I know that most L4 users have much more invested in resources than I do... but considering the L5 upgrade 9 months after purchasing the L4 Leader package and buying William Barclay's set of NT commentaries

  • Re: Frustrations Result from Mismanaged Expectations

I agree totally. In addition I think a lot of the newer Logos users like myself were (are) confused by the use of the word "feature"...sometimes meant generically and sometimes specific to the real "feature." Then you throw in the term "data sets" and the confusion only got worse. After reading 100 or so forum posts it became insanely confusing because

  • Re: Does L5 allow exporting of highlighted text in a resource?
If Logos would create note files as the iPad does, it would be a fine tool for gathering notes for all sorts of purposes for those without an iOS device. Research for a paper would be quite a bit easier by simply underlining then compiling all the notes outside of Logos. By applying different note symbols and colors one could

Thanks, Mark!! On the one hand, this is awesome news...on the other hand, knowing this just makes it that much harder for me to patiently wait for more news about the Cross Grade options!

  • Re: Does L5 allow exporting of highlighted text in a resource?
I believe he's talking about BW ability to "copy/paste" directly into Word with a keystroke. Rather than C+C, switch programs, C+V, it helps cut steps out.
No...I'm not talking about a cut/paste option. Here's an actual example: In preparation for teaching a class, I've been reading a commentary using Vyrso on

  • Does L5 allow exporting of highlighted text in a resource?

I'm one of the many waiting for the dust to settle before making the leap to L5. Any chance that L5 gives the capability to export highlighted text from a resource to a text file or MS Word?

  • Re: Decisions...Decisions...Is Clause Search worth $225 for a Sunday School Teacher?
It's nice that it is coming, but that is a reaction to a missed opportunity. I really feel cheated to be honest. Had I known, I would have waited or just stuck with the current software packages I have. Okay... official message... where is the official timeline and ETA? • Decisions...Decisions...Is Clause Search worth $225 for a Sunday School Teacher?

I currently have the L4 Leader package. There is no question that I will be upgrading to L5...just don't know when or to what L5 package. At the present time my self-debate is between Bronze and Silver. The difference between the two for my "personalized discount" is $225. Resources aside, I see the biggest difference between the two packages is the

  • Learn to Study the Bible - Logos or Kindle version

I'm a long-time Kindle owner and short-time Logos user...and I absolutely love them both. I also have an Android tablet (Motorola Xoom) with both the Kindle and Logos apps on it. I confess that, with the novelty of Logos still burning strong, I've been neglecting my Kindle recently. (Sadly, my full-time job gets in the way of both. ) While perusing

Good golly, Miss Molly...you are so right...Mr. Barclay's commentaries are about as close as one can get to Mr. Barclay's commentaries! Thanks, Rosie!!!

  • Closest Logos Commentary to William Barclay?

I'm a Logos newbie...and excited about my new venture in Bible study. Although I don't always agree with William Barclay's commentary conclusions, it is, by far my "go to" commentary when I prepare my adult Sunday School lessons. I love his writing style and his ability to illustrate Bible truths. Any thoughts out there on what Logos compatible commentaries

Thanks Doc and others. It's a done deal... I purchased the Leaders Library. Was going to get the Bible Study library but found a 15% off coupon so moved up one package. Have also installed Logos on my Android tablet. Let the learning (and questions) begin!

Thanks to all that provided input...I greatly appreciate it. Let me respond to some of the questions and comments... I haven't spent any time looking into the details of other Bible software. I've heard about Logos for sometime and research using my friend, Google pointed to Logos 4 as the cream of the crop. Maybe I overstated it when I said I have

  • Is Logos 4 Too Much for Me?

I've been contemplating the purchase of Logos 4 but I'm concerned that, for me, it might be like drinking water from a fire hose. I'm not a scholar...not a college student...not a pastor. I have no interest in word studies or Greek or Hebrew. I'm a 60 year-old lay person who teaches an adult Sunday School class. I enjoy using commentaries, illustrations
