  • BUG- Search in L5 unstable requires program shutdown

L5 has been open over night and previously I had no problem in searching during 1st day of install. Now on the 2nd day the Bible search doesn't provide a full drop down menu of varied bible passage options and it locks up when seeking to enter a specific search range in scripture. The entire menu line of open books began to jump back and forth with

Synch is not working for me either. I install 4.5a when it was first available and initially had a synch problem then it went away. I assume it was a logos server issue that was resolved. Is it possible that this synch problem will also go away when tech support works on the logos server(s)? Hope so. Since I have done nothing new since 4.5a was synching

Feb 6 8:13am I am having the same endless synch problem. (have been all weekend) I contacted tech support and was told that the problem was with their synch server. She said to wait and it would be resolved. It's good to know that the problem is not on my side and that Logos tech expertise will resolve the issue. A search of the "synch" issue suggests

  • Re: Slow loading of MacArthur Study Bible NASB

Thanks Dave I looked at the other thread. I am puzzled why MSB opens instantly on my desktop and lags (4+ secs) on my laptop. Both machines have core 2 duo plenty of RAM (6 & 4GB) and fast processors. The L4 settings for MSB are the same on both machines. Thus the ??? Thankfully, it is more a nuisance when working than a problem that crashes L4. On

Paul, I have Dell Desktop w/ an Intel core 2 duo 2.84GHZ 6GB Ram and the lag was about 4 seconds until the recent download and the fix of my Psalms note file. I assume the recent download served as a fix for my desktop. Hope it works for you as well. My Toshiba laptop has Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB Ram and I am experiencing the same lag problem with

  • Re: Slow loading of MacArthur Study Bible NASB

Tim Yes, I closed and opened L4 a few times - possibly the indexing of the 151MB files had not completed. However, after initially opening L4 now, MSB opens slow, but when I open another book and then go back to MSB NASB it opens instantly, even a bit faster than the ESB Stdy Bible. Before purchasing MSBNASB I experience the same lag problem with MSB

  • Re: Slow loading of MacArthur Study Bible NASB

I just finished the download of the 151MB update and reduced the size of my Psalms note file which was linked to the MSB and now after several re-loads of L4 the MSB NASB is opening instantly. I don't know why the change from lag to instant, but suspect it may be tied to the updated files just installed. ??

  • Slow loading of MacArthur Study Bible NASB

Does anyone else find that the MASBNASB loads slower than other books. I'm using W7 64bit w/ 6GB RAM. All other books open in 1 sec or less. MASB opens in 4sec or as much as 10sec. This is not a major problem, but is a bit of a nuisance. It takes long enough for W7 to declare that Logos is "not responding." I wonder if the code needs some tweaking to

Just visited the General thread and saw the 12 days post there to hopefully prompt a similar 12 days in 2010. The email re: 12 days 2009 archive may be a hint that either 2010 won't happen, or that those hopeful take a look at what was offered in 2009. Just guessing.

  • Re: windows 7 and logos 4

Richard Try going into the W7 control panel and select system & security>change user account settings>move the control to never notify That should solve the problem. If you alone are using your computer you could leave the setting that way. Otherwise you can return it to the default setting until you need to install another program. This worked for

  • L4 version d THANK YOU LOGOS!

Your latest download (version d) solved my slow loading problem. With a dozen resources open it loads in 14 seconds. That is a major contrast to earlier releases of L4. I have Win7 with 6GB Ram and a core 2 duo processor, yet earlier versions (even after a reinstall try) still loaded in over 60 seconds and opening a new book could take as much as 15

  • Re: 4.0c to go gold today!

Thanks Richard and Kevin. Appreciate the information. I am glad to have a fast enough machine that indexing does not slow enough to make study difficult. The general slowness of L4 is a nuisance, but does grow patience, and that's a good thing. I await (patiently) to see if L4c has improved the general slowness. (I have already followed the ideas in

  • Re: 4.0c to go gold today!

P.S. It was a 914.3MB download. It is taking a very long time to index - each time I check the completion time is getting longer. Wonder if some or many resources were also updated based on new coding? Not being familiar with the L4c beta process I can only guess if updating some resources was needed as well.

It was just auto updated in both desktop & laptop as L4c. It must be the gold release. Now I am waiting until indexing completes to see how gold it is in increased performance. Warren Dane

A hearty AMEN to your suggestion Vladimir! I too experience a long delay for the home page to open. If the downloading could occur while I am working in other areas it would make a visit to the home page a more inviting option. Warren Dane
