Thank you for confirming Graham, I really appreciate all your help (and patience with me) through the thread.

So I've had some time to upgrade and re-read through this thread and I realize that I haven't used very good terminology which I think is leading to some confusion as to what I am trying to accomplish so I'd like to try to re-clarify what I'm trying to do. 1. As I understand it, the perk of the new notes system is that, except for specific situations
In a future release, it would be possible to drag Notebooks from the Documents menu.
Came to the forums searching for a solution to adding a specific notebook to my favorites. Just wanted to update the thread for others that this is now possible.

Thanks Graham, that confirms that my problem still remains. Using that method is a good way to see only the highlights. What I'm struggling with is that the default method for notes and highlights is no longer a "resource specific notebook" but "no notebook" and it's cumbersome to have to select a notebook for each and every highlight/note. So if I
The illustrations that I have added to my notes are not only tagged, but also anchored to specific verses with an orange star so I know that there is an illustration I believed to be relevant to that particular verse. It serves as a bit of a wake up call to me in my prep. Also, I find when looking for illustrations

Thanks Graham, I'll try to upgrade in a few days to check. In the meantime, by using that filter and selecting "highlights" or "notes" would that show me only the highlights or notes as opposed to the entire resource text? What I'm wanting to do is to read through a commentary with only the highlights and notes that are for that specific commentary

Just to add to the thread, I had the same problem and used the same solution (fresh install).
-
Thanks Reuben, but if I turn off the Copy Citations setting, then when I cut and paste from a resource into a note, it doesn't include the citation and hyperlink - It's only the text. What I'm trying to accomplish is to copy something from a resource and paste it into a note with it including a hyperlinked citation (just like in L7). However, unlike

I believe it's the same as yours Could this be a paid Logos 8 feature I don't have?
-
Hi Fred, Thanks for the help. How do you find the Notes and Highlights button? I can't seem to find it. Thanks, Ryan
I use both the Logos Notes and the Logos Illustrations tab to find, save and record illustrations... In Logos notes I have created a notebook just for illustrations...As a final step in my sermon prep, I will open the illustrations tab under the guides/Biblical reference guides tab. I will plug my test verses in and

I'm absolutely shocked that we can't put a tag in a note on a mobile device. At this point, I have to make a note on my iPad. Then, when I remember, walk over to my desktop, recall that note that needs a tag, and then tag it. Just crazy. I wish they'd add tagging to mobile as priority #1.

Thanks Reuben. I'm surprised that drag and drop isn't supported. Glad to know it isn't just me. I looked in my program settings and I have "copy footnotes" turned to off but it still makes the footnote. Great points about the multiple ESV clutter. That will definitely affect my OCD :)

Hi all, apologies if this has already been answered. I have a question about highlights and notes. I'm going through a commentary and I only want the highlights I've made in that particular commentary to show and not any of the notes (and their icons) that I've made in Bibles that are attached to Bible passages. However, with the new note system, the

I'm curious if their are plans to have an option to set mobile highlighting to "last active notebook" instead of having to manually set a notebook each time. If there isn't, it isn't a huge deal, but it changes the way I have to do my notes so it would be helpful for me to know.
-
So I finally took the plunge to L8 and am slowly learning how the new notes tool works. A few questions that I'd appreciate anyone speaking into to help me understand: 1. Are we not able to select text in a resource and drag and drop into a note? It looks like it should be able to but I can't make it work. I can copy and paste but not drag and drop
Done. Thanks. I've never seen the whole description or note on any version of the software. I'll be glad when that's fixed.
Like Mike, I too have never seen the entire "description text" of a prayer request. Usually it's just the first sentence or two then it's cut off.

Looks like it's scheduled to ship on 6/3/2019.

Thus far I've used a personal book but it is cumbersome to update it frequently. I've been wondering if maybe the new Logos 8 Note system might make this easier with some sort of usage of the tag/label system (not really sure of the difference). Morris Proctor gives a sample idea of how to do that here: https://mpseminars.com/church/create-and-search
The program itself is aesthetically fine, but the idea of reading books on a computer screen is somewhat lost on me. I spent about an hour trying to read Edward’s Religious Affections on my monitor and quit without having accomplished much (except obtaining a splitting headache).
