• Re: Limiting Commentaries and other Resources for Bible Study and Sermon Prep

See the wiki on making collections: http://wiki.logos.com/Collections and also the one on customizing a passage guide: http://wiki.logos.com/Customizing_the_Passage_and_Exegetical_Guides Once you have a custom passage guide that shows your favorite resources, you can set up and save a named layout for Bible study that includes your custom passage guide
I believe you can do the same by creating a All Resources Collection. It will show it in table format and you can add or hide columns of information.
Maybe this is obvious, but what's the rule for an "All Resources" Collection?

  • Re: Bible Sense? "Kosmos"

I believe the Bible Sense Lexicon is part of the data sets included in Logos 5. I have Logos 5.2, so I assume I have the latest version.

  • Bible Sense? "Kosmos"

Hovering over the word "world" (kosmos) in John 15:18 yields a very strange "Bible Sense" result in the Information Window: When I open the Bible Sense Lexicon and type "world" I am given the option of "world system" which gives John 15:18 as a reference. "World system" is a reasonable meaning for "kosmos" in John 15:18. "People of the Psalms" is not

For me Bible references in Notes won't work at some times and will work at others. I have tried typing a reference in the exact same place in a note and in the exact same way. Sometimes it turns into a link and sometimes not. It does seem like a bug. I am using Logos 5.2 and Windows 8.1.

  • Re: Information Window - 5.2

I don't think you can get rid of the Bible Sense information. That should probably be an option. You probably know that you can eliminate everything else with the information window settings ( http://wiki.logos.com/Information ).

I have Windows 8.1 on a Dell (Core i5-3330 with 8 Gigs of RAM). Logos 5 is working fine. For some reason, I did have to re-install MS Office 2013 after moving to Windows 8.1.

  • Re: BUG: clause search

I guess I would call what you want to do "phrase search." I don't have Shakespeare or Milton, but I tried a basic search for "lasting friendship" in the Perseus classics collection and got a number of hits in several English translations that use that phrase. So unfortunately I can't reproduce the problem you are having. Are you sure you are doing a

From D. A. Carson's N.T. Commentary Survey : E.K. Simpson (on Ephesians) "provides some helpful comments on individual words, but on the whole the work is an erudite disappointment. His vocabulary is impressive, but not much else." Bruce on Colossians is good, but other commentaries are certainly better.

In the 1990's I used Quickverse with WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS. Some time ago I got the Libronix engine with a free biography of M'Cheyne, but hardly used it. I've really been a Logos user since 2012, when I got Perseus Greek and Latin, LSJ, and the Stuttgart Electronic Study Bible (now German Bible Society Bundle). Since then I've done minimal crossgrades

This may not be the best, but a clause search using subject:Jesus object:a church gives you a fair number of passages to look at.

  • Re: Passage Guide Screen Shot is very small

I'm wondering if you mean that you can't see much of the Passage Guide with your layout. In that case, you may want to open the Passage Guide in a separate window. If the Passage Guide tab is active (with a blue bar on the top), you can press Control + the F11 key to open it in a separate window.
