• Re: Downside to Dynamic Pricing???

I suppose this does raise the question of whether it's time to move towards a model where the collections that users purchase become collections of individual licenses to individual books. Logos could still choose to offer to sell certain books only as parts of collections, but once the collection is purchased the user has a collection of individual
In effect, by agreeing to purchase the big bundle under the dynamic pricing scheme, you are impliedly agreeing to a re-licencing arrangement. I say impliedly, because I am not aware of any express contractual provision from Logos. Maybe Logos should bring this to the attention of users.
Per my understanding, I think that

  • Re: Downside to Dynamic Pricing???

Like I said, I have no desire to part with anything in my Logos library for the foreseeable future. And I believe that most Logos users likewise love their libraries and don't plan on getting rid of anything they own anytime soon. Furthermore, I don't think there is much money to be made in selling your Logos library, as it has been my observation that

  • Re: The Complete Classic Commentaries Bundle (1,537 vols.)

I was about to go ahead and take advantage of this since my dynamic price is only about $350. However, as I thought about it a bit, I did start to wonder whether there might be a potentially hidden downside to dynamic pricing. My question about it is posted here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/72822.aspx

  • Downside to Dynamic Pricing???

I was looking at purchasing the new Complete Classic Commentaries Bundle ( http://www.logos.com/product/33554/the-complete-classic-commentaries-bundle ), but a question came to mind that concerned me. My question is this: If I purchase this using dynamic pricing (my price would only be about $350), does that mean that all the collections I own which

The bar FINALLY moved to "Almost there!" (orange) status! Way to go everyone! Thanks to Daniel Liu for the recent order (which may have been the one that moved it). And thanks, as always, to Dan Francis for his perseverance in championing this. Let's keep pushing and get this into production ASAP!

  • I really wish Logos had this

I was just looking at some books I own in Google Books and they have a really cool feature which I wish Logos had. The feature is that they allow you to toggle between reading "Flowing text" and "Scanned images". The current format for Logos books would be like the "Flowing text" format, but the "Scanned images" format is an actual image of the page

The Search for the Christian Doctrine of God: The Arian Controversy, 318-381 by R. P. C. Hanson This is a must-have for church history. It's by Baker Academic, so I believe there is already an existing Logos relationship with the publisher. http://www.amazon.com/The-Search-Christian-Doctrine-God/dp/080103146X

  • Re: Zondervan Summer eBook Sale

I'm not sure if this was updated, but it now appears that those of these titles which are available in Vyrso have been discounted. Thanks! However, there is one title which is in Logos format (rather than Vyrso) which hasn't been discounted: Is There a Meaning in This Text? by Kevin J. • Zondervan Summer eBook Sale

I got an email this morning from Zondervan about their summer eBook sale: http://zondervan.com/content/summer-reading-ebook-deals The books are on sale in ePub format, and one I checked was also on sale in Kindle. Given that Logos is my favorite eBook format, is there any chance Logos might match these?
We serve One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and I cannot believe that He wants us, as believers, or christian organizations, to bicker, gripe, and fight over money, especially when the purpose of Logos and Moody is to edify, educate, and grow believers! They both need to be careful not to place the profit margin
However, looking at it from a different perspective, Logos has already spent substantial $$$ digitizing and indexing Moody resources for which they will now receive no revenue. The last time I checked, 100% of zero is zero.
That's true, Tony. However, remember that those are sunk costs. And if a business like Logos

  • Re: Moody titles will be going away

The word from a reliable source is that Moody followed the advice of a third party advisor, who recommended that Moody ask Logos for financial terms at a level that Logos found to be economically unsustainable. So it looks like this is just another case of publishers, being under increased financial stress due to rapid changes in the digital world,
