• Re: Norman Geisler's Systematic Theology MM discount not truly 30% off!

Two things in reply to the original post: 1. If you only wanted just a single volume of the set, and didn't have the desire or the money to buy the entire set ... this is still a great deal. Why pay $128 if you only were interested in, say, Geisler's Christology? 2. The discount was dependent on the votes, and thus out of Logos' control. If Geisler

  • Re: Show footnotes only?
I am curious however about the need to do this since most works in Logos include a bibliography at the end.
Some bibliographies aren't comprehensive. My particular inquiry is making a bibliography of all the Bible commentaries that are referenced in Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology. There's a bibliography at the end

  • Show footnotes only?

I'm trying to create a bibliography for a specific resource. Is there a way to display, or put into a document, all of the footnotes for a resource, and nothing else?

  • Baptist Covenant Theology: No Send to Kindle?

I bought the Baptist Covenant Theology bundle specifically so I could read it on my Kindle, but for some reason I don't see the Send to Kindle feature enabled on any of them. Am I doing something wrong? It's all in the public domain, so there shouldn't be any copyright or permission issues.

  • Re: Textual Commentary v Textual Guide

    1) Very clear. You do not need any knowledge of Greek for the second work. 2) Yes. 3) No there isn't ... and I've actually prayed that one would come out. OT textual criticism is almost entirely constrained to specialists, due to the number of difficult-to-access documents in various languages that you need to access. My overall evaluation: I know Greek

  • Re: Send to Kindle Impressions

It does the job, it's serviceable, and it's a great feature to have. A Send-to-Kindle is not as good as a native Kindle file, though, and I am not sad that I repurchased some Kindle books I already had in Logos when they went on sale. For example, a native Kindle book has active links in the Table of Contents found in the book itself. A Logos Send-to

  • Re: Please add Martin Luther King, Jr. resources

I issue a Martin Luther King day challenge to everyone to read his collection of sermons "Strength to Love." We should read or listen to his sermons before judging and dismissing their worth in Logos. If you read through it and think it doesn't deserve to be in Logos or Vyrso, post back here and say so.
Robert's comment is probably pretty accurate. And abondservant probably pretty representative of the forum. Needs to be useful for Sunday mornings.
I've read through his sermon collection "Strength to Love," and found it moving, and excellent exposition. I think it has tremendous value, and not just historically, and I

  • Please add Martin Luther King, Jr. resources

Martin Luther King weekend is coming up. There are currently no Martin Luther King resources in Logos or Vyrso, and there are plenty of sermons, speeches, and letters that would be welcome additions.
Thanks for all the help! Anyone have suggestions for Historic Premillennialism?
The authority on historical Premillennialism was George Eldon Ladd, who has several books on the topic. There's also A Case for Historic Premillennialism, written by the Denver Seminary faculty. Also, Grudem, Erickson and Bird are historic

  • Re: Myrtlefield Expositions - David Gooding - take another look

I first became aware of David Gooding's Luke commentary while reading Phil Ryken's two volume commentary on Luke in the Reformed Expository Commentary series. Ryken cites Gooding's commentary very frequently.

They are worthwhile, but they are available for free in PDF online. They would be nice to have in Logos, but for myself, not for $55.

  • Re: Anglican offering is quite Reformed

A Rayner, from my Reformed Baptist perspective, I don't think of Wright and McGrath as Reformed. Whitefield and Packer, yes. What commentaries and other resources would you suggest that would reflect an Anglo-Catholic heritage? I'm afraid I'm rather ignorant of Anglo-Catholic scholarship.
PS:Others may well correct me about the JB being the only major translation missing but I can not think of any others (Berkley, Moffat and the Smith-Godspeed are missing but none of these had as wide a use or the impact of the JB).
There is somethings to be said of that. There are FULL editions and Readers editions. (Think NIV STUDY BIBLE verses NIV PEW Bible). The NJB that Logos has is the readers edition. Traditionally the Readers edition was made to have a more compact version. I own three copies of the JB an family size Bible with the Dali plates
