Try "Biblical Places" from the tools menu
For more information look at the tutorial videos: http://www.logos.com/videos Yes, they're all of the Windows product, but they're a great introduction to what L4 can do. It's not usually hard to work out how to use the Mac version once you've reviewed these ...
Because only one of the two most popular slideware applications is supported.
There's no need for us to have this discussion at all - L4 already has the following options: All of these functions work as expected. There's 'Copy' and 'Save As ...' for those of us who like a bit of control over where and how the image

Hi - It sounds like you're trying to access these resources through the 'Passage Guide' rather than the 'Tools' menu. Am I right? If so, it could be that these particular sections of the Passage Guide are hidden. On the screenshot below Biblical Places is open, but Biblical people is not. If I were to click where the red arrow is pointing, then I would
I would recommend learning Greek to minimize the chance of exegetical errors when using the tools in Logos.
I've found 'Learning New Testament Greek Now And Then' ( here ) a useful introduction to the structure and rules of Biblical Greek. This has greatly eased the process of understanding how Logos can help with
Yes! Cracked it!
Great! I'm pleased my explanation made sense and you've been able to develop a customised style for Copy Bible Verses. When explaining something like this you never really know how well you've done until you've shared it with someone!
it's just affecting the Mac devs who are running pre-Alpha 19 code
So does this provide us with a hint as to what you're working on?

In the week I've been using A18 I've got quite used to dragging various guides and tools straight from the menus to where I want them. However, there are two issues that I've come across. Both are reproducable. First, if I try to drag 'Passage Analysis' from the 'Tools' menu, it opens the 'Program Settings' instead: Second, I cannot drag anything directly
The former issue you brought to our attention is not something we have been able to reproduce.
I can still reproduce this here. I guess I can see what happens in A19 ...
When you move the Text Comparison from the menu to an area where there is no text or images around does it let you drop the
Perhaps you could ask in here how many are using the L4 Alpha exclusively for their sermon prep and that might give you a better idea?
I prepare comments on three Bible readings every day and a new Bible talk every fortnight in addition to my own personal Bible study. I purchased a Logos 4 base package when the Mac
There are still bugs in the search features I think.
Alan - Make sure the reindexing is complete, i.e. when you *think* it's done restart L4 and it may reindex a bit more of your library. I had the same problem as you about an hour ago. It's all working now.
Perhaps a forced reindex under 19.1 is necessary?
Might be worth a try. Leave it to run overnight!
secret developer builds
Not so secret any more!
After all, you can only read one book at a time anyway.
Yes, you can only read one book at a time, but (as I'm sure you know) Bible study involves comparison of passages, examination of words, etc. Screen real estate helps. (I admit it, I'm rehearsing my case here!)

I'm running Logos 4.3 Beta 8 (4.30.0.0882) on OS X 10.6.7. The "Interesting Words" and "Topics" guides are not working. I can enter a passage and the spinner whirls for a few seconds, but the result is always a blank window: Is this a problem with my install or an issue with the beta?
-
I too have noticed that the contextual menu is running very slowly now. It sometimes takes what seems like 30 seconds for the Manuscript/Lemma/Morph/Strongs entries to appear below the two standard items. Speed is an issue across the whole of L4 at the moment. I really hope this will be improved as it develops beyond the Alpha stage.

May I weigh in on the 'cross or no cross' debate? I am a devout Christian who believes that too much is made of the cross by the majority of Christians. The important thing is not the cross, but the man who died on it. I would suggest that as L4 is about reading and studying books (yes, I know, Christian books) that the logo should include a book or

Me too! The Mac version is developing at quite a pace. I look forward to each new Alpha release with quite a lot of anticipation. Thanks, guys!

There is a problem with the line spacing in the ESV every time 'Lord' is set in small caps to denote the Memorial Name. See the screenshot below:

The Mac Alpha has reached to point where I find it useable on a daily basis. The one thing that I really struggle with, however, is the reliance on the use of the keyboard *and* the mouse. It would be really useful if: a) The focus of the cursor shifts to the logical next step following a command. So, for example, once the search dialog has been opened

Add version is great with Bible search. Can you remove a version once it's added?
