• Re: FRUSTRATED with Logos wasting my computer cycles

One thing I have observed is that the Factbook is very slow in doing this the first time I open it in a session. If I close the Factbook then reopen, it responds much more quickly for the following look-ups.

[quote user="MJ. I often have 2-5 minutes delay building the stupid dropdown even though I know the precise term I want. If indexing or other processing is
However, nothing was ever downloaded onto my Logos engine.
First things first--have you tried the "Update Now" command in the command box at the top of the program? There have been a few reports of delays in resources being downloaded in the present service release of Logos 7, so try that first.

Thanks for helping me to finally figure out what to do with my birthday credit! Got a book I'd had my eye on plus 7 more for about the same price as the one alone.

  • Re: N T Wright "Climax of the Covenant"

Yes, and it's set to ship today. I've already got plenty of Wright in my library, but this one is cited over and over again in other works I read. That I take as clear sign to pick it up.
One of the resources I enjoyed the most concerning Christology was https://www.logos.com/product/5993/jesus-according-to-scripture . Obviously if you are approaching it more from a systematic theology side of things then you would want to pick up a systematic theology from the likes of Oden, Erickson, etc. This is probably a bit
So I have many well regarded commentaries on Exodus and John. Also I don't read Hebrew or Greek. I know the two WBCs on offer are well priced, but I don't need to spend money for the sake of it. Would anyone care to persuade me that either of these commentaries are must have or have significantly assisted them when preaching
Are the monthly preview resources going to continue?
They're offering one preview resource per month in contrast to the multiples that came as part of Logos Now. That's one of the main reasons why I'm dropping my subscription--I liked the multi-volume previews in Now.

Verbum FBotM is up too, and it's also a sampler of a big expensive series: https://verbum.com/free-book-of-the-month FL Connect hasn't rolled over to June yet, but kudos on getting these up so fast!

  • Re: Logos Now Free Books: One Volume From a Set Missing

Can't say for sure, but you could try putting the one volume in the cart and using the code anyway to see if it works. The new Faithlife Books store has a lot of problems. The particular set I'm completing doesn't even show up in the list of eligible books, but if I put it in my cart on logos.com, the code works with it.

  • July 2018 Preview: Vol. 1 of Barth's Dogmatics

The preview resource* for Logos Now/FL Connect this month is the first volume (in 2 parts) of Karl Barth's Church Dogmatics (CD). I know that because of some terrific sales, many people now have CD. If you don't, and if you're at all interested or curious about Barth and his theology, let me recommend this as something you should read. If you want to

I already own Dogmatics, so I got no download. (I also have Connect Essentials, for a little while at least.) Do you have Verbum Now? The other titles look like they could go with it. (I'm guessing, seeing that there is no "Orthodox Now".) Curious that the licenses are all showing as permanent.
On a similar line, I went ahead and got my free "classics" book--a series I'm trying to complete before my subscription runs out. This is the first time doing it through ebooks.faithlife.com rather than logos.com The author (Francis Hall) was not listed in the side bar results narrower. I had to search manually for him, but the coupon
