I have had a somewhat odd experience: throughout the development process performance of the various alpha and beta releases seemed adequate (in terms of performance), with the exception that the software takes a very long time to switch layouts (see below). The same was true with Release Candidates 1–3. However, as soon as I updated to the GM I experienced

Tom: Thanks for the update. I just wanted to make sure that it did not fall through the cracks, or get overlooked in the rejoicing at going GM. dla

Now that L4 has gone 'Gold Master' and these issues persist, I wonder it if is worth reviving this thread? Does the development team have a sense of when these visual problems might be addressed? dla

I have noticed that the home page of my Windows installation shows images from the Logos Infographics collection, but my Mac installation (Beta 8) still does not. Is this a problem with my installation, or is this a ‘feature’ that has simply not been implemented yet on the Mac side? Obviously, this is not a major ‘feature’, but it is a noticeable difference

OK. Here is what I deleted manually: The application: ([HD]/Applications/Libronix DLS) The system-level app support materials: ([HD]/Library/Application Support/Libronix DLS/) The user-level app support materials: ([USER ROOT]/Library/Application Support/Libronix DLS/) The user-level preferences file: ([USER ROOT]/Library/Preferences/com.libronix.libronixDLS

Since L4 has matured to the point where I am using it all the time, I am ready to remove the older version of Libronix DLS/Logos for Mac from my computer to free up the space. What files/directories should I delete? Is there an uninstall utility somewhere that takes care of this automatically for me? -- dla

Elizabeth: I have been using L4 for the Mac since the very early alpha releases. At first I continued to use either Libronix or the Windows version of L4 since the Mac version feature set was incoomplete. But for the last six weeks or so I have used L4 for the Mac exclusively. The feature set is pretty complete, and while there are still some bugs to

Tom: Following your example, I used the command 'Set Hebrew font to NewJerusalemU' to set the default Hebrew font to 'NewJerusalemU', a commercial Unicode Hebrew font widely used in biblical studies and available from Linguists Software. That font is a little more classical in design than SBL Hebrew, and I prefer it for biblical use. However, I noticed

Thank you, Tom. That is very encouraging. And keep up the good work ... you guys are doing a great job! --dla

Mike: Yes. That is rather the point, isn't it. One should not have to use the operating system's feature for assisting the visually impaired in order to read 'standard' text in the program. If I can't read it (especially the pointed words) -- and I am very good at reading Hebrew text -- then how will those whose ability to read Hebrew is marginal possibly

As I continue to struggle with the fairly obtuse interface for morphology-based searching in L4, I find that my efforts to master this important skill are hindered by two display-related issues. First, when searching for a particular lemma using the English way of entering Hebrew text (as in, for example, "h:derek" to search for the noun meaning 'way

I concur with the observations of the others. I started out with L4 when it was in very early Alpha stage. At that point it was hardly functional at all -- only to be expected for an early alpha of any software. As a result I ran L4 in Windows using Parallels on my Mac for most of my real work (I teach OT at a seminary). Over the last few months I find

It looks as though the problem is related to the Times New Roman font. I checked with the FontBook and found that TNR was installed. However, I noted that there were multiple versions of the font installed, with all of them but one disabled. So I decided to remove all of the copies of TNR and restart. Then I re-installed only one copy in the folder

Congratulations on reaching the beta stage. Now that we are here, I thought that I would try again to resolve a problem that I first had back about Alpha 9, and reported then, but have not been able to resolve between then and now. To judge by the feedback that I got from other members of the forum back when I first reported this, this is a problem

I re-read the thread and understood it fine. I think that my 'confusing and contradictory' comment was not so much pointed to that particular thread but to the collection of several different threads that attempted to address the general topic of searching for roots. That is probably because the several persons who contributed to the thread were not

Yes. I read that thread. It was one of the confusing and contradictory items that I referred to. So, I take it that the simple answer is NO. There is no simple and straightforward way to find all the derivatives from a single root in Logos. How disappointing! Well, I guess it is a good thing that I have kept my ancient hardform copy of Mandelkern's

I am new to Logos on Windows (6 months or so), coming from Accordance on the Macintosh. I set out several hours ago to find all the occurrences in the Hebrew Bible of the root ZKR in all its derivations (i.e. as a verb in its many forms, as the noun ZIKRON, as the proper name Zechariah, and so forth). After a couple of hours of trying on my own I could

Sorry, with being out of the country and then starting a new academic term when I got back, I have been delayed in following up on this. I still have the same problem with A15. Since it is clearly something having to do with my setup and not a general problem (as I first thought), I have attached the logs. 8446.Archive.zip Thanks for the help ... dla

For some time now I have noticed that whenever I try to open the SESB 2.0 BHS text, it brings down Logos 4 for the Mac. It opens fine in the Windows version that I have running under Parallels. Since I did not see any other notes about this problem, I thought that perhaps I should call it to your attention. Otherwise A14 seems to continue the positive

I have had L4 installed since Alpha 3, and have had no particular problems until a couple of weeks ago. I currently have A9 installed, and every time I launch it the software informs me that there is an update to be installed. I confirm that it should go ahead and install the update, but after a couple of minutes I get the message: Update Error! An
