  • Re: Logos 5 won't launch

I think I figured it out. I was running the L4 beta. L5 didn't like the beta's databases. I downloaded the L5 beta and it's currently downloading resources - which is farther than I ever got before. I'll confirm everything is AOK in the morning. Thanks everyone for the quick response. Now, go to bed - you've got to go to church in the morning. :)

  • Logos 5 won't launch

I just purchased and downloaded the Logos 5 minimal cross grade. At launch I got the legal disclaimer window, then the sign in whirligig, then it just quit. Subsequent attempts skip the disclaimer, but still quit at sign in. I have removed Logos 4 from the Applications folder and deleted the prefs. What now? HELP!

    This worked for me. Thanks!

  • Re: Logos 5 Upgrade

That seems reasonable. I'd like to have the new core software and features, but I don't need more resources. $50-100 seems about right.

  • Re: Library Sort Field for Date Added

For the record... tagging is not my idea of a useable solution for this particular issue. And neither is surfing to my account page on the Logos web site. Both of those procedures accomplish the ultimate goal - but not in a simple, convenient, user-friendly way.

OK. Got it sorted out. Apparently Last Updated DOES refer to my library, not the resource itself. Thanks for the help, gentlemen.

  • Re: Library Sort Field for Date Added

Hmm... That doesn't seem to be the case, but I'll look again. e.g. I just downloaded a book this morning - but it does not show at the top of the list when sorting by Last Updated. ????

  • Re: Library Sort Field for Date Added

I am aware of that, George, and it is "close, but no cigar". "Last Updated" seems to refer to the date the resource itself was updated. That does not help me find the resources most recently added to my library.

  • Library Sort Field for Date Added

It would be helpful if there were a sort column available in the Library window that showed the date a resource was added to the library. That would allow me to quickly find books that have just been purchased/added.

  • Re: Songs

Gosh! Opening 200+ text files, then copying and pasting them, one at a time, into Proclaim sounds like a real time killer. Why no import of the world's most common word processor file format?

I have the same question: How do I import lyrics from a word.doc file? I expected the "file" button to do this, but when pointed to word.docs, they are grayed out as if Proclaim does not recognize the file format.

  • Re: Unexpected Behavior w/Layout

Rather than try to determine the problem... Can anyone tell me how to create a custom Layout containing a Passage Guide which, when changing the text in the Passage Guide, the Passage Guide will retain it's appearance and not revert to it's default inclusion of all the options available in the Add drop down?

Will do. Thanks. Guide / Layout. Not sure of the most correct terminology. My "workspace" use to adapt to different passages w/o changing. Now, suddenly, it is. :)

  • Re: Unexpected Behavior w/Layout

As stated, it is a custom guide (My Study Guide).

  • Re: Unexpected Behavior w/Layout

I don't understand the question. I open the Layout I created some time ago. But when I change the passage reference, the layout changes - it used to stay the same.

  • Unexpected Behavior w/Layout

I have a customized study layout in my Layouts menu which includes a Passage Guide pane, a Bible pane, and a Commentary pane. When I change the reference in the Passage Guide pane, it reverts to showing all the items available in the "Add" button and forgets my customized settings. I don't remember having this problem in releases prior to 4.2.

  • Logos & Lion

Logos (4.2b SR-2 (4.22.5.1115)) is working great with Lion here, except for one thing: Every time I launch Logos, I have to re-enter my login name and password. Is there a fix for that?

  • Aggravating Behavior

In the Passage Guide main window (on the left): I single click to the right of the passage (e.g. Psalm 6); I look at my keyboard to find the delete key (e.g. to delete the 6, so I can then type in a 7); While looking down, Logos changes my selection (just to the right of the 6) and selects the entire field; I hit "delete", the whole field goes blank
