• Re: Update asks for admin login; uninstalled, new install same

Thanks Roy. This is a University machine without user Admin privileges, so when I attempt to make the changes you suggest, I get the same dialog for an Admin login. But I've been able before to install Logos updates.
Sometimes (often! ) when Windows installs an update, the update process resets the UAC (User Account Control) settings

  • Update asks for admin login; uninstalled, new install same

Suddenly I began getting a admin login dialog box on Windows 10 laptop when trying to install a Logos.update. Finally uninstalled Logos, but a new install still calls for admin login. Logs attached, I think. 5076.logs190225.zip

  • Re: 'Text Range' anchored highlights and notes in the same resource

Thanks for the good ideas. I also realized that if I open the resource and then in the facet menu in the left pane select 'text range' (above screen shot), I can scroll through both notes and highlights in the order they appear in the resource.

  • 'Text Range' anchored highlights and notes in the same resource

I hope this hasn't already been addressed, but I couldn't find where it was. At some point out of memory I "highlighted" text in the same resource sometimes as notes and sometimes as highlights. Both are, of course, anchored to a Text Range. However, viewing them in the left panel of the resource requires choosing one or the other. I'd like to convert
Verbum comes with three predefined collections: church fathers, catechism, church documents.
Interesting. Are these predefined via rules or are they hard-baked into the software? I've built a collection of Fathers and Early Christian Literature, but it relies heavily on Mytags.

MJ, Can you say a little more about pre-defined collections? I couldn't find the advice from FL you were talking about. Are pre-defined collections something available from Faithlife? I know about the examples on the Wiki, but I'm guessing you are talking about something else. Thanks.
Quite honestly I’m glad I got both Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmud in Logos. Many resources reference the Talmud so it’s kind of nice to be able to jump back-and-forth, highlight, copy and paste or create notes within the Talmud. Maybe it won’t take me 7 1/2 years read it 👍😁👌 DAL
Everyone may already
Faithlife has promised features in the new Notes which have not yet made it into beta. The note conversion was the initial beta of the conversion process not a completed feature.
Indeed. I like the new notes tool, bit it looks to me as though it is a ways from "prime time."

  • Re: Commentary on the Torah, Friedman

True enough, Beloved. But the Kindle version isn't great (Hebrew verses are small images and hard to read, e.g.), and I like the convenience of searching and having it appear in a passage guide, etc.
Not to be a stinker Dudley, but why should I wait for FL to add this to their portfolio when it can be had now for a pittance elsewhere

  • Re: Passage Guide Question

Patrick, welcome to Logos and the forums. The passage guide works most reliably with resources that are organized by Bible chapter and verse, like commentaries. One way to find where particular passages are quoted on a monograph is to use the 'Cited By' tool. Open your resource(s) (what Logos calls books, etc.) you want to look in, in this case your

  • Re: Just a Few More Days for L8

I don't have any idea, of course, when it will come out. That said, as one who works in an academic environment, I can make the case that a July or early August release would generate some interest just before school opens. Also, release before the term would give faculty a chance to formulate current recommendations for students,

  • Two Logos installations on same PC? (2 different Faithlife accounts)

Does anyone have experience with putting two installations of Logos on one PC? I know I would need a second Logos account (is that okay), but is it possible to switch between the two installations? I teach at a divinity school and would like to put Academic Basic in addition to my main installation so I can see exactly what my students see if they're
