Same here. Can you download the versions on the Logos webpage and then use the Logos scan command? http://www.logos.com/products/details/5084

Wow! That was fast. I can't wait to get it on Logos.

  • Re: CHALOT keeps coming up blank

It must have been a problem with the font - whether corrupt or not working with Logos properly. I uninstalled it (which was not as easy as it should be, I had to manually delete it and reboot) and then reinstalled. All is working now!

OK, here's another weird thing. CHALOT appears to work when my Hebrew font is set to Ezra, but not when it is set to SBL Hebrew. So I don't think it is an index. I wonder how the font issue could cause this - especially since when the font is set to SBL Hebrew, it prevents any of the text (Hebrew or English) in CHALOT from showing up.

Can you get that to work, Rich? Do you think I should do a reindex command? If so, which one? I did recently get the Calvin 500, so I wonder if that messed up my index.
Yes it works from both the ESV and the BHS for me. Sounds like you might have a corrupt index. [heavy sigh.] [/quote

By the way, BDAG appears to work for Greek texts, and BDB for Hebrew. CHALOT is the problem.

I do not see any text when I click on the text on the left. I was trying to look up "guarding" (ESV) in Psalm 119:9. I did a right click, and then chose the Hebrew Lemma (shemar) and then CHALOT as the source. Then it "moved" to a blank setting. Can you get that to work, Rich? Do you think I should do a reindex command? If so, which one? I did recently

  • CHALOT keeps coming up blank

Is anyone else having trouble with CHALOT? I was trying to use it with a passage in Psalm 119, and every time I look up a word, I get a blank view. (See attachments) It is basically unusable.
so you type thoughts or bits of info in mindmap and arrange them later on, right? As for your "illustrations" or longer "arguments": do you just "know it" or do you attach a note file or link or something? Or once arranged and exported, do you fill in the Word sermon with more extensive notes made in Logos?
Sometimes

  • Re: EBC good first "premium" commentary?

For what it is worth, as a minister who has a good working knowledge of the languages, I find both the Bible Speaks Today and the Tyndale series to be better than even more technical series like WBC. Either of those (BST or Tyndale) would be a good choice.

  • Re: Calvin's Commentaries Bugs/Problems

This is a perfect example of why Logos needs to give us the ability to show "recently added" items in a library search. The cloud resource delivery and sync is great, except when you spend a bunch of dollars on many items, and then you have to wonder if all of them made it to your computer. Especially when you see post after post where someone is missing

Another solution would be when the revamped Logos 4 PBB is usable. Almost every one of the paperback books is public domain.

  • Calvin Commentaries Series incomplete

After downloading the Calvin 500, I now see that not all of the Commentaries are tagged as being a part of the series "Calvin's Commentaries". The following are blank for series: Ezekiel Gospel of John (Volumes I and II) Epistles to Timothy, Titus and Philemon Epistles to the Corinthians (Volumes I and II) Is there a reason for this? It will mess up

I agree with Bill. How hard can it be to charge a bunch of cards all at once (getting Logos all the cash) and then send out a bunch of emails? It also makes no sense since they announced a "ship" date (even easier, since we are talking about downloads.

  • Re: Mind Mapping program integration

Dan, I use it for creating my outlines. It allows me to get thoughts, illustrations, and "points" onto the map, and then I can arrange them in sequential order. It is very flexible, and allows me to get the content of what will be my outline "out" without having the need to think in a strict linear fashion. This is especially helpful with Logos, as

For those who are pastors, there are several companies that sell software to non-profits at a reduced rate. You can get Mindjet (which is fairly expensive) for under $100 that way. I love using mind mapping software to do sermon prep with Logos. For me it works best on two monitors.

My PrePub orders in my account show it as being "Live". What in the world does that mean? I would have liked to have downloaded them when I was told (2/26) in order to use the materials in checking on a few things for this coming Sunday.

  • Re: 500 Year Calvin Collection - pre-pub expires 2/26 ?

Calvin is valuable to anyone because of his exegetical and linguistic work. But for those who are in Reformed churches/circles, having a searchable Calvin is invaluable now. He is so often taken out of context by those who wish to have a sentence or two from him supporting their position, that the ability to find and read the context is critical.
