Maybe it would be more popular if they offer more popular out of copyright books
In a way Community Pricing is how they determine how popular a title is - the problem is that they have much of selection up and any given time. I think the uservoice page that has been created to get feedback about program functionality

  • John 1:1 - "was God" vs "a god"

As promised in my other post, let's practice having a theological discussion that stays within the boundaries of the forum guidelines and helps people understand more about how they can use the functions in Logos. How can I use Logos to investigate further the issue often raise by Jehovah Witnesses (and maybe others) in regards to John 1:1 and whether

  • Guidelines on asking theological / doctrinal questions without falling afoul of the forum guidelines

I've been thinking about this for a little bit. The current thread started by Michael provided the catalyst to put something up for discussion. This post is also a partial response to threads such as the one started by Terry and the followup suggestion from Mark . Overall I think the forum conduct guidelines are sound and appropriate - the issue for

I think it would be also worthwhile to look at passages that talk about our jealous God and examine why He might be so.

The email says the price has been reduced - I'm trying to remember what the price was before? Still some good titles in the collection though

  • What if I want to get off this train?

Can't seem to find this answer anywhere. I have two machines that are identical - one of them has the beta version of Logos on it, while on my main machine I've kept on the official SR track. Now that 4.0b is at RC stage I'm considering installing it on my main machine as I've not encountered any substantive issues with it on the test machine and I

  • Re: I must be a loser!

In the meantime some much newer titles have surged ahead! "The Gospel Mystery of Santification" was only added last week and is already above 80% at $8. I don't know whether that's an indication of the leanings of the entire Logos userbase or just the most active ones - or maybe the ones looking for a cheap deal :) I should point out that both titles

  • Re: What are your uservoice strategies?

Sorry, just another thought. It's interesting to me to look at the missing features road map and compare it the items that have so far received the most votes and it would seem Logos is already pretty good and knowing what is most important to the most number of its users. So kudos to them.
I think this is missing the whole point of this exercise. It is not for us to tell Logos all the things we would like, but what we believe is most important to us.
I understand what you are saying, and I agree that we shouldn't be trying to game the system - but when I look at some of the options available for voting

Thank you all for your kind words - one of the things I like to do is analyze and crunch numbers (as my wife would say "you're such a geek" - at which point I remind her " and you're married to one") and another thing I like to do is communicate knowledge to empower people to make better decisions - so doing this report thingy encompasses both :) Your

  • What are your uservoice strategies?

If you don't already know - Logos has recently started a new experiment in obtaining customer feedback - check it out at http://logos.uservoice.com/ You only have 10 votes and you can only allocate a maximum of 3 votes per option - so I'm curious about how people are bidding. My current theory is that the leading options are already getting plenty of

I beleive it does - if not you can get it here http://www.logos.com/support/downloads/ldls I'm sure you're aware that Libronix can do some things that are not currently possible in Logos4 so if you wanted your entire library (well almost) available on that platform - you can have them both on your system simultaneously with no problem then check out

As I understand it - You need to to install it in Libronix first - then sync licenses - then it will also download into Logos4
Jeremy, how on earth can you tell the percentage increase of bidders?
I kept my data from the first report and then compared. What it doesn't tell me though is how many people that represents. The one piece of information that is not provided is the actual amount that Logos is looking to raise. For obvious reasons
I note that the price of the Compendium of Christian Theology has now dropped to $10
That certainly is the most popular bid and as long as more bidders come in it looks like that will be what it goes for (or less!) - the $14 figure is based on the number of *current* bidders without taking into account any additional
I just upped my bid to $24. I wonder what would happen if all of us $18 bidders went to $24? I bet once it passes the threshold it will get back down to at least $21.
If you could persuade bidders sitting on $15 and $18 to raise their bids to $21 then that would be enough

In January, I created a Community Pricing Forecast Report http://community.logos.com/forums/t/10089.aspx and I promised I would do again in a months time. Well, February has just finished so here it is. http://www.logos.com/communitypricing Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE There has been a lot of activity on the Community Pricing page

  • Re: Community Pricing and Gathering Interest

I should mention too that there is no reason why CP couldn't be used to gauge interest in titles that are not public domain - all Logos needs to do is make sure that the lowest price available to click on equals the royalty negotiated with the publisher plus some margin to go towards production. For example, let's say they have to pay a fixed royalty

  • Re: Community Pricing and Gathering Interest

Up til now I think Community Pricing has been a bit of a disappointment for Logos. I recall a recent post (from Bob?) mentioning how they're always kind of mystified when something moves from CP into pre-pub and then all of a sudden they get a surge of orders at the higher price. I'm sure they don't mind taking the extra money (because theoretically
