Thanks Graham — As soon as I read your 2014 response reporting that direct links were not possible (a couple days ago), I built such a note, tying together, linking several mostly 'Beowulf' references about Wyrd. (At some point and with this confirmation that the situation has not changed, I will broaden it to include some references to Providence
It is possible to create a note in the resource and have a link in the note so the reference is "one click away" But, in general, these links should be in place
Graham, though this was back in 2014, I suppose it remains true, that I cannot link text in one non-biblical resource directly to text in another non-biblical

Sometimes, I would like to start the Logos desktop app at one layout, sometimes at another. Of course, separate (free) accounts for each would not give me access to all my resources, and separate paid accts. would be prohibitive. Is there a ('command line'?) way to trigger different layout startups? (Even were each eg, a different Windows shortcut?

Thank you Graham, I've begun 'publishing' my BGHPB series of Personal Books. During the build process, the log sometimes says that the "Article too long, forcing article break". As far as I can tell however, the books as they are opened and shown in Logos appear to be complete. (About 64k sized with 90k characters seems to be acceptable, with no 'too

1. When I FIND (ctrl-f) a character string in a note, the note scrolls to the vicinity of the character for me, but not TO it. (If the 'word' is on the page already displayed, the highlight does advance or retrograde; But if more hits are found elsewhere, I have to manually PAGE to see them.) Typically, I have to PGDN a page or so to see it -- even

Predictably, typing a pair of square brackets + a following space at the beginning of a line in a Note, thus “[] ”, - reformats the [] as a box and indents the line, - freezes Logos, then - crashes it, five - ten seconds later. I can restart Logos normally; nothing lost that I can see -- except that unwanted indentation and box. It happens

Thank you Andrew, Sine. (MJ: Your 'thorn' reference just clicked -- Thanks.) When I do a "Search All Text in All Resources" for "wyrd", among the results is a FACTBOOK entry: Among which as I scanned them were none discussing Wyrd or Old English/Anglo-Saxon Providence or Fate or Destiny. (Which is a bit weird because I do have works by Bede.) A digression

This is happening to me too, now in 2021, getting two such 'errors' while trying to build my first ever Personal Book. I opened a DOC file in Word 2010, saved it as DOCX, had no 'maintain compatibility ...' checkbox in the save window. I realize that 'image' may not be a picture in the traditional sense, but there is nothing like that in this text document

Yes, thanks MJ, that is what I meant to say with "it would be nice were Factbook flexible enough to pull books off my Logos shelf for which it has perhaps not been hardcoded". (Metaphors can be sooo vague [:'(]) Sine , it was indeed SEARCH results similar to MJ's image (not Factbook's) that produced the sample of resources I gave that did contain wyrd

Graham, thank you; That is good to know. I had actually looked at that briefly, but in that short window it frankly looked as if it was not suited to an essentially mere text 'import'; as if it was a bit of an effort. I take it that once 'booked', including the book is a matter of click-drag? (To answer your first question -- ham-fisted copy/paste

Thank you, S ine , That is correct for the Factbook as far as I browsed its results. However, hits are possible, in the Britannica article re Beowulf, forgivably in a few Semitic language transliterations, and amusingly enough, in dictionary etymological explications of the English word "weird". Still, given my somewhat Herodotean proclivities, it would

- How do I stop Logos from assuming I typed 'it' wrong? Eg, looking for the Old English word, "Wyrd", it would be nice were the Factbook to at least prioritize any wyrd hits before it got to " Byard Bennett ", "word", war, swords, et al. And beyond its mistyped/fuzzy hits, Factbook doesn't know about the wyrd dictionary and Beowulf results I find otherwise

I take it then that I cannot include a notebook in a collection? Why would I? There are resources that Logos doesn't have that I would nevertheless like to encounter. (Eg, Smith's "Theory of Moral Sentiment".) Of course, I could suggest it and others (as I have), but that takes years to implement even if the 'ask' is attended. Win 10 x64 [19042] updd;

Thx MJ. (I have several times found your attention of use )

(If the 'word' is on the page already displayed, the highlight does advance or retrograde.) Typically, I have to go somewhere to the next 'page' to see it, up or down -- on a full 27" display. Thanks again MJ, For completion's sake, I've attached a doc with the snips pasted. 6562.If it.docx (It includes what I find when I click VIEW OPTIONS.)

Thanks OHF, Though I've not (persistently?) tested this by immediately typing after the box appears (which did not work just now as I tested it), I did not because it had no blinking cursor -- as it does when I click or double-tab into it. I'll wait until 8.17 Windows is primetime (The condition has persisted through multiple high-level, x.UPDATE, updates
