  • Re: CPU usage bug?

I'll talk with one of our Mac developers and see if they have some ideas.

  • Re: Force quit on mac every time

Hello Daniel, Would it be possible to give us a call? You can get to support at 1(800)875-6467, 6:00am-5:00pm Pacifc, M-F. We should be able to capture those logs for you if you're having trouble. Note: It is important that we do not re-open Logos before the logs are collected. Please avoid this if possible.

  • Re: BUG: "App is now idle" -- but CPU still above 100% (and program wouldn't quit)

I've noticed that not needing to reboot is a common opinion among Mac users, with reference to better RAM management than Windows. This is also common among Linux users which I understand handles RAM the same as OS X. However, I've since learned a little bit about OS X's "Shared Memory" which is apparently somewhat limited compared to other OS and prone

  • Re: BUG: Close Active Layout doesn't close anything...

Hey Guys, A little clarification (meanwhile, we have a training article in the works): "Close All" will close all open panels, etc. "Close Active Layout" will "de-activate" the current layout. It's not actually closing the panels, but it's preventing accidentally updating the active layout by de-activating it. This is by design. If you would like to

  • Re: CPU usage bug?

Computers are designed to cool themselves automatically when operating at capacity, then clock-back the processor if it gets too hot. So while it may be very warm, if the hardware, fans and drivers are functioning correctly, and it was well designed to start with, high CPU load and elevated temperatures should not be a problem. Occasionally, the hardware

  • Re: Crashing again

Hi Casey, I think we're having trouble with some of your Preferences. I think we can fix this by rebuilding them, but I'm not sure exactly which preferences are being affected, so I would probably rebuild all preferences. You'll need to open finder to the following directory: /Users/caseydoss/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Documents/egqabd7x.tce

  • Re: What is this error?

Hey Don, I'd be glad to look into it for you, but more context would be helpful. Can you attach the full logs?

I checked with one of our developers to make sure I understand this correctly. The short version being, without a log of the instance, we can only guess at what might have been going on. If you can provide that log, this may be helpful. Personally, I tend to avoid "sleeping" my computer (Windows) as it inevitably introduces extra variables that could

  • Re: Unable to Print

Hello Stephen, These types of issues can be related to the printer driver. When the Print/Export menu loads, it asks the default printer what its properties or capabilities are. This message appears if the printer does not respond appropriately. Troubleshooting Tip: We can test this by changing printers. Even if you don't have an additional printer

  • Re: Suddenly Crashing

Hello Christopher, Apologies for the difficulty you're experiencing. You seem to be getting an error accessing or modifying 2 Logos databases, potentially because they are "busy". Would you try a couple things for me? If you're using a backup service, like Time Machine, remove the Logos directory from the backup list, then Reboot your computer. Does

  • Re: Logos 5 slow on MAC?

Thanks Patrick. I'm sure it's somewhat obvious that I'm more of a Windows guy at heart and was not aware of exactly how much extra information was in that report. I'd certainly encourage the use of any less invasive alternatives. As for the benchmarks I posted, while the Processor Benchmarks I posted were done on PC, the general performance of the processor

  • Re: Logos 5 slow on MAC?

Hey Guys, Development is always working to improve performance in the app. We're also constantly adding new content and more data for better, more efficient results on searches, etc. In older generation CPUs, even CPUs of the same name, we see less improvement as we take advantage of the newer technology. For instance, an Intel i7 CPU purchased new

  • Re: External HD Installation

Installation to an external storage solution is not supported and strongly recommended against. Windows has a tendency to change drive letters on external devices. If this occurs, Logos will become orphaned from its registry entries and non-functional. Speed is also significantly impacted when working through USB instead of the usual SATA/IDE connection

We may have a work around to apply for this issue. If you're still experiencing the crash, please call support for direct assistance. Meanwhile, we are also collecting data to try and identify the source of the problem and address it, preventing future problems.

  • Re: "An Upgrade Is Required" Error Loop after installing 4.6b SR-1

Hey Ernest, I think you have two instances installed. Sometimes when Windows does an upgrade install (as apposed to a fresh install where the hard drive is wiped clean), it leaves files behind and can orphan user directories, windows directories, etc. One of your shortcuts (the one that doesn't work), is probably pointing to a different copy of Logos4

Hello LimJK, I am unable to reproduce this. If you load your home page at 120%, it does not crash? Can you load the home page, then hit F5 to refresh it? Does the crash still occur?

  • Re: Mac Bug: Small Window when opening saved layout

Hello Donovan, I apologize for the difficulty you're experiencing. I am concerned your layout may have corrupted somehow, specifically related to size and position. I think we can fix this best by recreating the layout. If you open Logos to a blank layout (you can control this in Tools > Program Settings), it should open without any previous size data

  • Re: BUG: Position in resource doesn't stay in place when RI is turned on or off

I am able to reproduce this on both platforms, but only in Deuteronomy 28. The same experiment in Proverbs 1:8 works fine on both platforms. I suspect it may have some more complex reasoning, but I'll report it.
