• Re: I am thinking of selling most of my (physical) library in favour of electronic resouces: Thoughts?

Made the switch to both digital books and magazines on my iPad and have never, ever regretted it. There is a potential negative that has been discussed here and in the broader world of digital books: Who really owns the books? The discussion came up here recently when the question was asked about what would happen if Logos went out of business. Would

  • Re: How are you using Evernote in conjunction with Logos?
Work out which Note document your highlights are being stored in, if you haven't changed it, it will probably be named after the highlight palette you're using e.g. "Highlighter pens". Open the note document in Logos and do Print/Export, then use Copy to Clipboard and paste into Evernote.
I had typed how I couldn't find where

  • Re: Logos 5 mac upgrade Timeline function missing

Randy, I have a Mac and just upgraded yesterday from L4 Leader to L5 Bronze. Along with that, I bought the ISBE. Just did what you asked and didn't get a crash, for that flag or any of the others in that paragraph.
I would love the ability to export my logos highlights from the Notes document (as a group...not one by one) to a Word document but the text in the Notes file has some kind of abbreviated version of the text.
Based on what Jon explained in this thread, are you able to do this now, or am I getting your scenario confused

  • Re: How is Logos 5 with Macs?

My Mac is 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 16 GB of RAM. I personally haven't found L5 to be any faster than L4. I've read notes from others who say it is faster. And maybe the difference is what they're doing with Logos. As I said in another thread on speed, I have to have things like InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator open at the same time and I don

  • Re: Black Friday base packages

Was a bit disappointed when I read that exclusion note the other day. As I debate which upgrade to get, a sale on base package upgrades at some point between now and Christmas may push me up to a higher package. Anyone who was around last year remember if Logos offered extra discounts on packages and upgrades around the holidays?

  • Re: Dream On

I actually had that $500 video package on my Wish List. But I realized it didn't do what I really wanted... to learn to be able to read the New Testament in Greek. Not for any specific reason... just for the joy of it. I will happily stand corrected, but that video package is not really about truly learning the Greek (or Hebrew) language. It's more

I'm new to Logos and just started exploring CP today. Put in a bid on two things. I can see where this could get rather addictive.

I did dip my toe in the CP waters with two of the Classic Commentaries. Is there an average length of time between when the bidding closes and when the product is available?

That's a good point about the amount of volumes affecting production time. I was more looking for just a general feel... I have no idea if it might be 3-months, 1 year or 4 years. I imagine Logos has done this a lot and there's some sort of range.

Thanks. That's a good point... I forget that some of these texts are very old and may require a lot of extra work to bring them to a level that allows them to work well within the Logos software.

Thanks for the link and insights, Andrew. Definitely getting an education on how all this works.

  • Re: Anabaptist + Mennonite Collection ships tomorrow...where to start reading?

I'm looking forward to this. Tomorrow can't come soon enough. In part, your starting point might be dictated by your specific interest or existing knowledge. I just read a great book on the origins of Mennonites (not included in this package), and I do tend to think that one of the history books in this collection might be a good overview and nice lead

Ugh. Did anyone notice that the release date is now 6/11 and not 6/8?

  • Re: Anabaptist + Mennonite Collection ships tomorrow...where to start reading?

I must admit... I do get a bit annoyed when a delay happens and there's no word about it. I had an e-mail two days ago alerting me that my pre-order would be available on 6/8. I've not had an official e-mail that there's been a delay. (Not that I really need one at this point.) Had I not, by chance, gone to the product page today and noticed the change

Still waiting for my download to kick in. Getting really fast at typing "update now" in the Command Bar just to see if I can get it started. Did notice the price went up about $25 today for the package compared to the pre-order.

Been waiting all day, have updated numerous times, and quit/restarted a number of times. No luck, although my account says it ships today.

  • Re: Notes Application for Mac

I don't know if you mean something that is integrated with Logos. Personally, I write all my notes in Evernote, but it's not integrated with Logos as far as I know. From Evernote, I print out my notes for each lesson. The reason I use Evernote is because it can sync across my computer (where I write my notes) and my mobile devices. That way, if I lost

  • Re: Decisions...Decisions...Is Clause Search worth $225 for a Sunday School Teacher?

OK, then. I guess a decision was made for me. I see that the upgrade discounts changed today. Where before they were about 20% or 25%, they're now 15%. What was going to be a $300 upgrade to Bronze is now $535. And obviously much higher to go up to Silver. Either I should kick myself for not acting sooner, or I should thank Logos for making the decision
