  • Re: What did you buy with your $20 Gift Card??

I put mine toward Mary: Devoted to God's Plan which I'm going to be teaching later this year. I'm teaching the Joseph curriculum from this series right now.

  • Re: Witnessing for Others

These days, who is paying attention to someone else? We've all got our eyes glued to our devices. Overall, I think we're in a good place. Because I have a digital Bible, I'm never without it. Why I might not obviously be reading it like a physical Bible, I'm more prepared to open my digital Bible in far more scenarios and personal interactions where

Who says you have to give your actual birth date? Same with some of the other info that is asked for. Although some companies do use your birthday to send you a free gift. :)

    > When you use Logos, what's the 'work product' of your study? Both personal study and material for teaching adult Sunday School. > What's the first thing (if anything) you do 'outside Logos' when you're done using Logos? I may put some handouts together in Pages. I actually do most of my note taking in Evernote, then build the handout in pages. Never

  • Re: Bible Translation Magazine - Please check it out

You can get single issues through the Kindle app on Amazon. I bought an issue earlier this year. It was OK, but I didn't like enough to subscribe. In fact, I took the pre-order you're referring to off my Wish List. Not saying it's a bad magazine... just personally found it a bit of a boring read. With so many books in my Logos library that I want to

  • Re: Lexham Bible Guides: A Definite Curiousity

I'm torn on these books. I bought one to try it out only to find that virtually every linked resource is locked. That's not completely a problem as they give you two or three sentences from each resource. But I was left with the sense that I could just as easily cycle through the commentaries I do own where I get complete analysis, not just two or three

  • Re: Store Credit

It's unfortunate something like a gift certificate doesn't exist. I've thought about giving this as a gift when we do the annual pastor appreciation. However, I have no clue what e-mail address he used to register with Logos. Yes, I could ask, but I would like it to be a surprise and something I can tuck into a card. The lack of a gift certificate ranks

If only it were that easy. > I understand that "Hey it's a business" and everyone needs to turn a profit but let's be honest... a lot of these downloads i'd bet are stagnant. But that's a big point... you don't know that for sure. You're just "betting" there are a lot of stagnant titles. In some cases, you're probably right. However, I see a lot of

  • Re: Bible Study Magazine in Digital Format Only

Interesting to me that this topic comes up again as I was thinking about it just yesterday. Some months back, I ordered all the back issues available in print. Yesterday, I started going through them, tearing the pages out, scanning them, and putting them in folders on my computer. The reason? Down the road, there's no way I'm going to remember what

  • Re: OS X and Dual Monitors

Obviously Logos would be able to say if changes in the OS will mean changes for Logos. But currently, dual-monitor capability on Macs doesn't mean much for Logos beyond being able to open a tab in a floating window and drag it to your other monitor. That capability should remain in the new OS. I've had a dual-monitor setup for years and would have trouble

  • Re: Logos could advise better

Returning something is a separate issue from what the OP was talking about and that's having a good idea of how a particular purchase will fit in with your current library. And I don't see that as a terribly unreasonable wish.

  • Re: Logos could advise better

I found the same experience the other day when I bought the Thessalonians book... lots of pointers to resources I don't have. Might have reconsidered the purchase had I know, but will go through it and see how it stands just on its own as I think there is still good info there. It does, however, make me rethink getting the other books in the series

  • Re: Announcing Logos Mobile Education

I hope this doesn't come out wrong, but I'm having trouble getting excited about this at the moment. The blog article is written in the present tense as if it's available now, but has no real details about how to get it, what exactly is available, and how much. If it were written as more of a "it's coming in the future" article, I could understand the

  • Re: Gifts and Gift Certificates

I'm obviously coming into this conversation late, but I'm surprised this isn't a reality after all this time. My mom just wrote and asked what I wanted for my birthday. There's something on my Logos Wish List that would be nice, so I figured a gift certificate from Logos would be perfect. Couldn't find a GC link on the home page, so I did a search from

  • Re: What if Microsoft tanks

While Microsoft may cease to exist at some point, I don't think it's worth worrying about now. I used to work at MS years ago. In fact, I was a tester for Windows. If you look through their history, a rotten operating system is nothing new. It happens for a variety of reasons. Credit to MS for plowing on and making improvements so the next version is

Thanks for taking the time to take and post the screenshots. I appreciate that. What I'm wondering now is if these two Bible versions (Greek and English) are linked in such a way that if I'm scrolling on the Greek Bible, the English Bible scrolls as well. (Much like your open Bible and Commentary are linked.) I'm guessing it doesn't and that these are

  • Greek and English side by side (Lexham High-Def related)

Need a buying opinion. I've been looking at The Lexham High Def NT for its focus on breaking down verses. I'm not 100% positive, but I think that product is just focusing on English. And initially, that was fine with me. But then I started thinking just in general terms about the easiest way to compare Greek and English side by side, and wondering if

  • Re: Bible Study Magazine

I've been a magazine junkie for years, but now only have two left that are print because they're not available digitally... BSM and another. All the rest are digital and many are from different countries which is much cheaper to buy and faster to receive. The other print magazine I'm still getting is definitely not being renewed. Still debating BSM

  • Re: Free Seminary and Masters Degree with Logos?

Yes, Andrew, I have thought/wondered about it. I'm under no illusion that it would be as good as an in-person , structured program. And, as others have pointed out, you miss out on aspects that create a well-round program of eduction. Plus, dropping that kind of cash on an education will probably keep you far more focused than the "self-taught" route
