• Re: I am thinking of selling most of my (physical) library in favour of electronic resouces: Thoughts?

Made the switch to both digital books and magazines on my iPad and have never, ever regretted it. There is a potential negative that has been discussed here and in the broader world of digital books: Who really owns the books? The discussion came up here recently when the question was asked about what would happen if Logos went out of business. Would

  • Re: How is Logos 5 with Macs?

My Mac is 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 16 GB of RAM. I personally haven't found L5 to be any faster than L4. I've read notes from others who say it is faster. And maybe the difference is what they're doing with Logos. As I said in another thread on speed, I have to have things like InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator open at the same time and I don

  • Re: A Question of Speed

Part of the answer may depend on what you're doing. As a bit of background, my work is in layout. So I have Photoshop, InDesgin and Illustrator running at once in some cases along with a browser, mail program and other things. This is on a 3 year old iMac. I have the iMac maxed out to 16GB of RAM and I rarely see a problem doing heavy graphic work.
I would love the ability to export my logos highlights from the Notes document (as a group...not one by one) to a Word document but the text in the Notes file has some kind of abbreviated version of the text.
Work out which Note document your highlights are being stored in, if you haven't changed it, it will probably be named after the highlight palette you're using e.g. "Highlighter pens". Open the note document in Logos and do Print/Export, then use Copy to Clipboard and paste into Evernote.
I had typed how I couldn't find where

  • Re: How are you using Evernote in conjunction with Logos?

While this isn't completely Logo-specific, I put all my teaching notes in Evernote. That way, I can refer to them if I'm out and have some spare moments. So when I'm going through resources in Logos or somewhere else online, I may cut/paste different things into my lesson notes in Evernote. And if for some reason I get separated from my notes for my

  • Re: Hand-selected Book Bundles

Actually I did find something interesting and I went ahead and bought it... the Preaching Bundle. I'm not a pastor, but I do teach an adult class on Sundays and would like to do more teaching in the years to come. I've found that many books on preaching can be applied to non-pastors in teaching roles. I had $30 knocked off the price based on books I

  • Re: Logos 5 mac upgrade Timeline function missing

Randy, I have a Mac and just upgraded yesterday from L4 Leader to L5 Bronze. Along with that, I bought the ISBE. Just did what you asked and didn't get a crash, for that flag or any of the others in that paragraph.

I've used some of the multimedia material in my class and agree that it's a good supplement to Logos.

Thanks for the quick responses. I had downloaded the installer from the page that was presented when I placed the order. I had also logged out and logged back into my computer account, but not rebooted. So I took something from both of you and tried again... I want to my account page and downloaded again, and before installing I rebooted the computer

  • Trying to diagnose a downloading problem after upgrade

I just bought my upgrade from L4 Leader to L5 Bronze. (Early Christmas gift.) Downloaded the install file (Mac) and off I went. The downloading got stuck at 28%. I let it sit for about 2 hours, but nothing happened changed from that 28%. I tried to cancel the download, but that didn't work. So I quit Logos and restarted. No downloads happen automatically

Thanks for the responses. I had looked in this forum category to see if it had been brought up, but it didn't dawn on me to check the Logos Website category. Nice to know it's already being looked at.

  • Iccon for whether a product is available on a mobile device

It wasn't that long ago that products had an icon indicating whether or not they could be accessed on a device like the iPad. But looking around at different products today, I only seem to see "Runs on Mac and PC", but nothing to specific to mobile devices. For me, knowing whether or not a resource will be available on my iPad is a major consideration

  • Re: Learn to use Biblical Greek and Hebrew with logos

Hi Jo, I can't answer any of your questions, but I did note something that might be important. I've considered getting this product and was tempted with the Black Friday sale. But as someone who is right now downloading my upgrade from Logos 4 to 5, I saw someone in the comments on that product page stating that it's based on Logos 4. In other words

  • Re: Black Friday Deals

Good deal on Learn to Use Biblical Greek and Hebrew with Logos Bible Software which I've considered a couple of times. But I think the budget can only afford the package upgrade I was planning on. Kind of thought there might be more items for Black Friday. Probably just as well there aren't as I don't need the extra temptations.

  • Re: Black Friday base packages

Was a bit disappointed when I read that exclusion note the other day. As I debate which upgrade to get, a sale on base package upgrades at some point between now and Christmas may push me up to a higher package. Anyone who was around last year remember if Logos offered extra discounts on packages and upgrades around the holidays?

Ugh! You're right. My mistake. I was logged into the forum, but I hadn't been logged in when looking at that page. Sorry for the false alarm, and thanks for setting me straight. Back to the dilemma of which to choose.

OK, then. I guess a decision was made for me. I see that the upgrade discounts changed today. Where before they were about 20% or 25%, they're now 15%. What was going to be a $300 upgrade to Bronze is now $535. And obviously much higher to go up to Silver. Either I should kick myself for not acting sooner, or I should thank Logos for making the decision

I'm in a very similar boat. I teach adult Sunday School, have the L4 Leader's package, and debating between Bronze and Silver. I had originally been going back and forth on the basis of one or two of the new features. But now I'm looking at the bigger picture of all the differences between Bronze and Silver in terms of the new books that would be included
