  • Re: Word Biblical Commentary to be $399.99 this weekend

What an INCREDIBLE price for a great resource. I bought this set in print in 1994 and then again in Logos a few years back. It is extremely valuable.

  • Re: The future of Logos and Faithlife: Help us make the right decisions!

Bob, thank you for the opportunity for input here. Since much of the input given so far has come from the perspective of smaller attendance/budget churches (which is the overwhelming majority), I will speak to this from the perspective of a senior pastor of a church with 600+ in attendance and $2 million budget. Larger established churches will tend

  • Re: Questions about moving from print to Logos?

Mark, I see you are a Lead Pastor too. I use Logos daily for my personal devotion and for sermon preparation - having been a user since 2008. I would like to take a somewhat different approach to your question regarding completely converting to Logos. For me personally, I was a pastor for 14 years before purchasing Logos - accumulating a 1000 volume

  • Re: Looking to upgrade - Help me Decide

Agree with the other commenters here. Pay 100% attention to the books you will get for your money that you will actually use. I understand why Logos packages them as "Silver, Gold, Platinum, etc." after all there must be some coherent delineation. However, the reality is that the different levels simply correspond to different books in the packages

  • Re: Is Logos 8 an improvement?

I use Logos daily and upgraded to Logos 8 the very first day it was available. I can say without hesitation that it is a vast improvement. The improvement in speed and stability alone with worth the upgrade. They have made really good layout improvements. Lots of small things that are really good once you discover them. The panels on the homepage are

I agree 100% about the CSB. It has quickly become my favorite translation after reading through it this year.

  • Re: Customizing Dashboard Cards

Thank you so much, Andrew! I got it fixed this morning. Since you work for FaithLife, I want to see that I believe Logos 8 is a HUGE step forward. GREAT WORK.

  • Customizing Dashboard Cards

Overall, I like the idea of having the Dashboard Cards and I think I will use them. However, there is the issue I have. In my Bible reading plan that I use daily, it automatically created a dashboard card for it. However, when I open the card, it is really a layout that opens the Bible I am reading through, the notes tool, the FaithLife Study Bible

  • Re: Logos 8. Day 3

[quote user="Josh Hunt"] I purchased Logos 8 a couple of days ago, and I must say I like it. I have had not trouble with crashes or hangs. I use Logos all day, every day. However, I don't use most of the features. I mostly do searches and commentary work. The stand out feature is that is is snappier. This is the Logos I have been looking for. The upgrade

  • Re: Initial Reaction to L8?

Downloaded it last night and used it for study today. Only a cursory glance at the new features and capabilities. However, I can already see that it is a tremendous improvement over Logos 7 in many, many ways - both visually and practically. I can't wait to have time for a full exploration in coming days. Well done FaithLife and the Logos team!

  • Re: Which package (v8) excites you most?

I upgraded to Baptist Gold. In that, you get BOTH the Adrian Rogers and John MacArthur sermon archives. That combination alone is worth the cost of the upgrade and then some!

  • Re: Help - Logos will not open / stops responding

UPDATE: I realized that I had not shut down my MacBook Pro last night. When I closed everything out and then restarted from scrath, then Logos came open and is working normally. Sorry for the bother.

  • Help - Logos will not open / stops responding

Everything was fine until this morning - now Logos will "hang up" and stop responding before it fully opens. Happened three times this morning - had to move over to the web app to do any work. After meetings, I just tried it again and the same thing is happened. To be clear, Logos will begin to open - the home page will appear, but everything won't

  • Re: Calling Kaplan Customers!

I actually prefer not having to call a Sales rep to make sure I get the best price. In todays world, put the best price out there for all. Many times in the past, I wanted to just buy something from the Logos website, but then I called Dave Kaplan "just to make sure" he couldn't do better. Many times he did - although most often not a huge savings.

  • Re: Thanks to the Faithlife team!

A triple AMEN to this post, Graham. Logos has been a transformative product for me and my ministry. Certainly, it has enhanced my sermon prep and study. However, it has also very much enhanced my personal walk with God and Bible reading. Count me as an extremely satisfied customer.

  • Re: One Volume Commentaries

My favorite one volume commentaries are actually study Bibles....MacArthur Study Bible, Zondervan NIV Study Bible, ESV Study Bible, and the Jeremiah Study Bible (sadly, not available in Logos). All four of these are more valuable than any single volume commentary I have found. It's two volumes but the Bible Knowledge Commentary (OT and NT volumes) is

I have an extensive library and pretty much only have a list of “wants“ at His point. I have made no major purchases this year in anticipation of spending for Logos 8. Today I saw where the Logos 7 packages are on sale for 25% off - can’t recall a better deal being offered even when new versions arrive. This discount temps me to get

Sorry, Mike. I use it on a MacBook Pro with High Sierra 10.13.5 2.2 GHZ Intel core I7. I always shut down Logos at the end of the day. But I will try that next time it hangs up. Thank you.

  • Constant issue using Prayer Lists and Reading plan

Every morning, I use Logos for my personal devotional and prayer time. I have my Bible reading set up in a reading plan and my prayer list in Logos as well. Several weeks ago, I started having issues with Logos "hanging up" with those. Meaning I would click that I have read a passage or prayed a prayer and nothing would happen. However the rest of Logos
