  • Re: Constant issue using Prayer Lists and Reading plan

Sorry, Mike. I use it on a MacBook Pro with High Sierra 10.13.5 2.2 GHZ Intel core I7. I always shut down Logos at the end of the day. But I will try that next time it hangs up. Thank you.

  • Constant issue using Prayer Lists and Reading plan

Every morning, I use Logos for my personal devotional and prayer time. I have my Bible reading set up in a reading plan and my prayer list in Logos as well. Several weeks ago, I started having issues with Logos "hanging up" with those. Meaning I would click that I have read a passage or prayed a prayer and nothing would happen. However the rest of Logos

  • Re: AYBD or ISBE, Revised?

If you are a pastor or Bible teacher, hands down the ISBE is the better choice. Also the Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible is an outstanding work.

  • Re: Is it worth it to buy WBC now or should I wait? Also best place to view videos about how to get the most out of Logos.

James, I have a slightly different take. In my opinion, the best thing to do depends on several factors that only you can answer. First, I agree with those who advise you to wait because you might get more really good commentaries for the same price. That is true. You very well might. However, the WBC is well worth $830 (it was only sale for around

  • Re: How many reference books consult to write 1 sermon

In terms of how much study I put into each sermon, that is difficult because I study over multiple weeks for each message. I will say that I typically study 20 hours per week or more for sermon prep - but I might work on parts of two or three sermons during that time. Bringing one to completion for preaching that week. As for additional resources, it

If you have them.... 1. NICOT/NICNT 2. NAC 3. WBC 4. EBC 5. Tyndale 6. UBS Handbooks OT/NT 7. Tom Constable Notes (don't be fooled, this is a commentary on the entire Bible) 8. Baker NT Commentary 9. Pillar NT Commentary

  • All of a sudden - constant issues with Logos 7 performance on MacBook Pro

I have been running Logos on a 2015 MacBook Pro 2.2 GHZ Intel Core 16 GB of RAM. Using MacOS High Sierra. Logos has run exceptionally well on this machine and have had now issues. However, in the last couple of weeks, Logos has started hanging up, becoming unresponsive, lagging behind updating progress on reading plans and prayer lists, etc. Sometimes

Writing from the perspective of a pastor who preaches weekly here. Certainly, I don't have all of the commentary series, but here are the ones I have personally found to be very, very helpful. Technical/Academic level commentaries NICOT/NICNT WBC Respected/Mid-level respected commentaries New American Commentary Expositor's Bible Commentary Tyndale

  • Re: So, the NICOT/NT Series Might Be On Sale for $750?

I am not even in the market for anything this year, but I might be enticed in for that price. Incredible, incredible deal for that price for what is arguable the best overall commentary set available. There aren't many more "big ticket" things that I want, BUT this is one of them.

  • Re: March Madness: What's worth purchasing

I speak from the perspective of a busy pastor who uses Logos for sermon prep daily. In my opinion, here are the things that are good deals... Of the things still on the board, the WBC and NICOT/NICNT at a big discount are certainly worth purchasing. They remain two of the best commentary sets available. Also, the new version of the EBC at half price

  • Re: Wait for 8 ?

I would say if there is a big ticket commentary set or other resource set (such as sermons from MacArthur) that you desire to own and is in a base package right now, go ahead and purchase Logos 7. For the price or just one of these sets by itself, you might get the set and an entire upgrade. Far and away the best bang for your buck. When Logos 8 comes

  • A humble suggestion for Faithlife

Now that I have had the weekend for everything to sink in and look at the FaithlifeConnect options, I have come to some conclusions. I am not interested in FaithlifeTV, only mildly interested in MobileEd, and not the least bit interested in presentation software, and a host of other things. I am ONLY interested in Logos Bible Software remaining viable

  • Re: Introducing Faithlife Connect

Certainly, I understand the confusion that many have and even the frustration about paying for a subscription to books I already own. However, I DO NOT feel that I have lost anything or that Faithlife has taken anything away from me. First of all, I have access to every resource I have paid for. Second, my LogosNow subscription is for those features

[quote user="Donovan R. Palmer"] Yes. Change is coming. Change has come. I really suspect that in spite of the uproar on these forums, our course is plotted and they will just keep a stiff upper lip because there is no other option. As a large investor I have two concerns: 1. The long term viability of Faithlife. They can only sell so many books to

  • Faithlife Connect - Defining the issues & looking for a path forward

Since 2009, I have spent about $6500 in Logos resources while collecting a theological library of over 3200 resources and have been a LogosNow subscriber since the beginning of the program. I use Logos every single day in my life and ministry as a senior pastor in Birmingham, Alabama. This morning, I was able to spend a couple of hours looking at the

  • Re: Baker’s New Testament Commentary (HK) (12 vols.)

I was fortunate enough to pick it up for a steal several years back. For the record, the "normal" price of $199 is well worth it for the quality of the commentaries. While there is some variation volume to volume (as with all series), they are overall an excellent NT commentary series that you will find helpful and use for many years to come.
