• Re: The Preacher's Commentary

I agree with the above. The set has some decent volumes, and it is worth picking up on sale, but the present price is waaaaaayyyyy too expensive for what you get. Much better choices out there for the money.

  • Re: How Good is the MM "Be" Series price of $5.39 peVolume?
EBC now is the wisest choice in my mind, I have never scene the EBCR go on sale at a significant savings. You end up with some outstanding commentaries at a phenomenal price. NIC is a good solid series but dolllar for dollar I still think you get the biggest bang from EBC.
I agree with Dan. The originial EBC for

  • Re: Do you write mostly in Logos or out of Logos?

I use "notes" and "clippings" inside Logos to preserve my study. Then I write my sermons in Word. The sermon editor intrigues me, but I have not yet taken the time to fully explore it.

Dave was my go to salesperson, and I have had nothing but poor experiences with sales reps since then. I have given up and will make any further purchases simply online - if I decide to make any further purchases at all.

  • Re: Gold or Silver plus WBC

Gary, I went back and looked at the two packages again. In my opinion, if you know for sure you will want the WBC, then get it now. That is an incredible price and it might not ever come back around. Furthermore, in looking at the additional commentaries you will get in Gold, they aren't bad, but I don't believe they compare to the value of the WBC

  • Re: Word Biblical Commentary on sale

Absolutely tremendous price that set. Hands down a great, great value.

  • Re: DTS Curated package

Personally, I do not understand why Logos would not want to do this for any seminary that they have a package for - given the number of alumni that use Logos from each of these schools. I am not a DTS grad, but I would be interested in the package because I am in agreement with them theologically and books by their faculty have greatly blessed my life

  • Re: Is Camp Logos worth the money?

Keith, the value of Camp Logos is two-fold: the information and getting away to walk through using the software for hours each day. The manuals only give you the information. If you walk through the manuals step by step, then you would have most of the information shared at Camp Logos. Most people won't do that. It would take hours. However, at Camp

Great question. I would be very interested in this package as well.

  • Re: Is Camp Logos worth the money?

You can get the information through the manuals or the DVD that Morris Proctor sells. The question is whether or not you have the time and discipline to work through them. To me, the primary value of Camp Logos is that you will "get away" for two days to concentrate on using Logos. For most of us, that is the only way we will take the time to work through

What are your thoughts after using the CSB? After using it for a week, I absolutely love it and feel it is a great improvement over the former HCSB. I am considering using the CSB as my primary preaching Bible for pulpit ministry.

  • Re: Do you write mostly in Logos or out of Logos?

Since 2011, I have keep all of my study materials in Logos. I create a notes document and a clippings document for every text that I preach. However, I write all of my sermons in Word. I noticed that some people on here use Scrivener. What is the advantage to it over Word?

  • Re: Grudem's Systematic is on Sale

Even at the full price of $39.99, Grudem's Systematic is absolutely worth every penny. It is an incredible resource. If I could only keep five books from my entire library, that book would be one of the five.

  • Re: Ditching the desktop PC???

For years I had a desktop in my office that I supplemented with a laptop for mobility. In 2010, I went exclusively to a laptop and never once looked back. Never missed it a single day - especially once the world of wifi and wireless printers opened up. Then in 2012 I made the leap to a MacBook Pro and have never touched a PC again. With Logos 6, there

  • HCSB reverse interliinear

Having seen Morris Proctor's blog post about this resource, I pulled up my HCSB in Logos and the reverse interlinear isn't working. In checking the forum, I see where it is presently only availalble to LogosNow subscribers. I am a LogosNow subscriber and it still isn't working for me. The interlinear paine shows up at the bottom, but it is blank. Please

Simon, Having been in full-time ministry for 20+ years now, I can relate to your concern. I served in chruches that gave me little to no money for resources and paid for many of the out of my pocket. In the last several years, I have been fortunate to serve in churches that provide ample funds. That being said, I am sure that FaithLife knows the profile

  • Re: Tips for using bible commentaries wisely?

I agree with those who say that it is important to study the text first and then look to the commentaries. I would also add that I find it helpful to consult different types of commentaries at different times. For instance, I consult the more technical/critical commentaries early on in my sermon preparation. Those type of commentaries typically deal

  • Re: Build a Libary with the Best Commentaries

If you are a pastor who will be building a library and studying to prepare sermons and Bible studies for many years, I would recommend a little different approach. Start by purchasing a few select sets of quality commentaries that will give you solid resources on the entire Bible. Here are the sets that I would personally recommend first.... First,
