There was much discussion about them from day 1 in the forums. This page on the Logos website went up as soon as they were ready to release L5 http://www.logos

  • Thoughts On the Introduction of L5

I wanted to express my experience and thoughts with the introduction of L5. I upgraded from L4 Silver to L5 Gold last Friday and realized that L5 Gold does not have NIGTC. My fault, I should have looked over the resources better. I didn’t realize how much libraries get changed even though the new Logos 5 packages have the some of the same names as the

I am with you. Had the Platinum upgrade on my list for January. Not now. Time to regroup and reevaluate.
Ah! I was so close of getting the upgrade to platinum and with that getting the New International Greek Text Commentary and Pillar New Testament Commentary . I was really
Scott posted some links to previews of several of the commentaries and I found the previews very helpful for me to make my decision. Scott's post is here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/53591/391330.aspx#391330
Wow thanks Rick! That will be very helpful. To Mark and Michael, thank you very much for your input. Thank you very much for your input cliff. My major concern was if I wouldn't understand exactly where NICOT/NICNT was saying because it contained too much Hebrew/Greek. That doesn't look like the case! As I said, the currently low price is a major draw to me.

  • Suggestions for NICOT/NICNT?

Hello everyone! I want to pick at some of your experienced brains about the NICOT/NICNT commentary set. I have never gone through seminary nor plan to in the near future, though I am taking some online bible classes through RTS via ITunes U. I do have the money to purchase this set (be it through payments) and was wondering if it would be a wise investment

Thanks for the link Dan. Knowing myself I'll probably end up getting all of them at some point, but I don't want to pass up on an opportunity when the price is low for the NIDB. I was thinking I could just get the NIDB and pass on the AYBD, but it seems the AYBD would still be an excellent addition.
The IVP set has most up-to-date scholarship, is very readable, with an eye toward textual relevance. It includes the New Bible Dictionary , which has 2,000 entries. Plus, collection is a super bargain for all that you get! The second set I would suggest is ISBE. Though it is older (1979 revised, I believe), it covers all the

Wow thanks for all the great advice! I think I may end up getting the ISBE initially and wait till AYBD and IVP go on sale. Does anyone recommend getting the NIDB since it is at such a great price right now?

  • Seeking Advice On a New Dictionary

Hey everyone! I ordered the Scholar base package a couple of weeks ago and have yet to order any supplemental dictionaries. I've done some searching through these forums and it seems the most popular picks are: 1. AYBD 2. IVP Collection + OT Dictionaries 3. ISBE 4. NIDB (though not available yet) I'm not in seminary (actually just graduated with a Civil
