• Re: Power Tip: Logos on e-ink with page turn buttons working!

Well, I gave it a try. Everything seemed to install properly. The one problem I am seeing is when I get to #7 under "Remap the right button". I tap on "click", and nothing happens, As far as I can tell, you haven't left out any steps in the process. I made sure I followed each step as you presented it. I tap "click" and I can see that the tap registers

  • Chesterton's Orthodoxy crashes Android app

I have tried to open G.K. Chesterton's Orthodoxy on two Verbum Android apps - one on my Boyue T63 running Android 4.2.2, and one on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 running Android 7.1.1. On both, the app crashes right after I try opening the resource. I can open Orthodoxy on my iPad app. I have deleted Orthodoxy on the Android devices and downloaded it again

Dan, I'd be thrilled if someone came out with an e-ink device that ran a newer version of Android, preferably 7.1! Using some gift money, I was able to buy an iPad Pro 9.7. With the new light sensitive display, it's almost as easy on my eyes as e-ink. But I still prefer e-ink for reading!

Ah, Xposed and Tasker! I didn't try Xposed on my T63. I've used it on other devices I have had. I'll give this a whirl. Thanks!

Hi, Fr. Devin, Glad that the T63 is working out so well for you! Sorry about the wait, though. It took two weeks for mine to arrive. I'm curious to find out how you managed to link the hardware buttons to Verbum. I tried a couple of ways, unsuccessfully.

  • Re: Latest update and E-Ink E-Readers

There's news for those of you who have the Onyx Boox C67 (any one in this series). The latest firmware update expands the user app partition to about 700 MB. This eliminates the issue with installing/upgrading Logos/Verbum for lack of space. Upgrading to the new firmware is a bit more involved than usual. Here you will find the links and instructions
Thanks for the updates! I'm considering getting an eReader for Verbum soon, and it's basically between the Boyue T63 and the Onyx C67. Let us know what you end up preferring!
Hi, Fr. Devin, That's easy - the Boyue T63. My main reason for making that recommendation is that the Onyx C67 has a very small user app partition

Speaking of hardware... Another e-ink option has found its way into my hands (with some help from my gadget budget, now depleted for the year). It's the Boyue T63. It has a 6 inch display, 300 dpi, and a microSD card slot. No headphone jack or audio capability. It has physical page turn buttons (they don't work with Logos, sorry). It runs Android 4

What would encourage me to buy more resources (besides more spending money)? I have invested in Logos/Verbum/FL since the 1990's in order to build up a resource library for Biblical studies and studies in Catholic teaching/tradition. Over the years, I've built up a decent library which has become very useful in many ways. There aren't many more resources
