  • Latest update and E-Ink E-Readers

I have two E-Ink E-readers here that run Android: a Boyue T62 that runs Android 4.2.2 (the one I use most often now) and an Onyx Boox T68 that runs Android 4.04. I have recently upgraded both to the latest Verbum Android app. Before the upgrade, both ran Verbum/Logos very well. Now, the Boyue continues to do well, after initially telling me that it

  • Re: Mac Download Problems Metathread

Is Logos having a server problem today? I ask because, although my download problems seemed to be fixed, I'm back to the download loop today as my MacBook tries to download a 164 mb update. Also, there is an error message saying that "send to Kindle" does not work. I'm on 6.0a, and I've done the recommended command in Terminal. All was well until this

Same problem with Android 4.2. I don't have a lot of resources downloaded on my device, so I uninstalled and then reinstalled. The app basically works - more or less. However, when I select resources from my desktop app to be downloaded on my device, nothing happens. I can download resources from the device individually, though.

  • Re: Passage Guide/Exegetical Guide error

I couldn't confirm that, but this was one of my theories as to what was going on. Things seem to be partially back now.

  • Passage Guide/Exegetical Guide error

Yesterday, I was using my Verbum app on my Android e-reader (Android 4.2). While I was in the app, I got this pop-up window asking me to sign into Logos. Weird. I did. Since then, when I try running an exegetical guide or a passage guide, I get this error: "Sorry, that reference cannot be located". I assure you, I'm using actual Bible passages! Also

  • A few more suggestions!

    1) New Commentary on the Code of Canon Law (Paulist Press). There are resources in the works for the 1917 Code, but the 1983 Code could use some love, too. 2) New Jerome Biblical Commentary. Others have mentioned it, so I'm seconding it. 3) Desert Christians by William Harmless. (also, Mystics by the same author) 4) The Solace of Fierce Landscapes by

A lot of great suggestions. Did you notice how many of them ARE on Logos now? I remember when I first bought Logos back in the 90's, when about the only explicitly Catholic resource they had was the NAB. I had this fantasy then of getting works like the Catechism, the Code of Canon Law and the Summa Theologiae on Logos, with all those hyperlinks. Lo

[quote user="fgh"] [quote user="Mark Nolette"]isn't that link meant to install Logos/Verbum from scratch? Well, I had some time to look at this download problem, and finally got it to finish downloading. Don't know if it was a fluke or not, but I turned off automatic downloads and then downloaded it manually when the notification of an update came up. The first attempt went to 74% before looping back to 0%. But the second attempt actually finished and installed

[quote user="Robert Carter"] I was just asked, "Am I sure"? Of course! I thought I had explained what has been happening. I had no problems with L5 other than that being slow when indexing and slow in some updates, considering that this is a large application. This was with Mavericks as well as my new Yosemite. I have also stated that I have no other

In my dl's after installing L6, I had only one stoppage, after 82%. I stopped the dl, indexed, restarted the dl, and all was fine. MUCH better than when I was trying to dl the "massive update". All other apps/programs dl just like always, including the Logos web site. It's interesting how we all have the same symptoms, more or less, but solutions that

In my Catechism, it depends. Some links are active; many are not. I don't recall seeing this before the latest resource update. Time for a new update, I'd say.

[quote user="Michael Robinson"] Mark Nolette... you, sir, are a genius! I have only been using a mac for about three weeks, but your suggestion about fixing permissions (whatever that means!) worked a treat. I finished dl'ing the massive update in an hour or so, and then L6 installed without a hitch. And now it's dl'ing even more stuff. Again, thanks

  • Re: Crossgrade v Upgrade?

Another way to put it: if you're happy with your current resources but want Logos 6, do a crossgrade. If you want more resources than you now have, do an upgrade! I am satisfied with the resources I now have, so I chose the crossgrade. I have full Logos 6 functionality, all my resources, and nothing I don't want.

I've watched a couple of the Morris Proctor advanced videos for Logos 6. We may be able to pick up some good ideas there. He's a good presenter, but my initial impression is that Practicum is more in-depth.

  • Verbum Practicum videos and Verbum 6

I was wondering if there were any plans to revise Practicum or make a few new videos in order to incorporate the new features of Verbum 6. Much of what is in the videos now still applies, even if the appearance of Verbum is a little different now. Still, it would be great to have some suggestions as to how the new features could enhance our study. Thanks

Had the same slowdown at 19%. Then it finally hit me - fix permissions!!! Doh! So, I went to Disk Utility and ran Fix Permissions. Download is sailing now.
