• Re: Home page slowdown

Didn't know about the , but that didn't have any effect, even after restarting Logos. Here's a quick screen cap. It's actually seems to be moving a bit faster this time during the first couple resizes, but slows down more like what I've been seeing during the maximize/restore near the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2aewj3cDeA

  • Home page slowdown

This is subjective as I can't compare and didn't really take notice before upgrading the beta, but it seem the home screen is much much slower to redraw when resizing the window or maximizing/restoring. Does anyone else notice this? My system is a fairly new Dell XPS 8300 with a core i7, 12GB Ram, ATI Radeon 6800 w/ 1GB RAM. When I drag out the corner
[Warning] Failed to interpret width value: 0pt
This has something to do with the table formatting. Haven't really tried to figure it out. But if you delete one row from a table you will see the count of these errors drop by 2. One error for each cell of the table. It seems harmless. I've seen it in every build. [quote

Ah, I had not tried it yet using multiple files, but I'm not sure I follow. When you mention hyperlinks are you talking about the table of contents on the left hand side or the the ones in the index? I broke the file into two files and it still seems to produce the same output: 1033.Sermons by the Fount.docx 5810.Sermons by the Fount2.docx

The searching is the part I'm not sure of. The headings can be organized any way you like afaict. Here's one more version that I was playing with earlier: 2158.Sermons by the Fount.docx It uses Heading 1 (H1) to identify series, and H2 to for individual "sermons" (this is useful for much much more than sermons, I think). Then lower heading can be used

Showing my ignorance. I guess the idea is to have multiple sermons per book. Silly me. Works a bit better like this, then: 0675.Sermons by the Fount.docx Still, ugly formatting of the tables in the resulting build...

Something like the attached doc maybe? It seems to generate the described results, but how do you search based on the tags? 0044.Sermon by the Fount.docx

Is there an interface to manage devices? I've installed the Beta and it identifies all my devices, but it list my Nexus 7 tablet twice. I imagine this is because I had a problem with the first install, uninstalled, and then re-installed a 2nd time. In the list of devices in the Library the first one listed (which also lists vyrso & faithlife with it

I believe you can search images with the #image term. See http://wiki.logos.com/Detailed_Search_Help#Searching_for_images
I am still not sure about the value of this feature. It seems to me (at least as it stands now) it is easier for me to just download the resources I want on my iPad from the iPad app
I can see where it will be useful for managing multiple devices, as opposed to opening each device to individually download resources. I can

If I understand the question... You can have any number of passage guides (Guides menu -> Passage Guide) open at once and open to difference passages. You can also have any number of searches (click the Search icon at top left) open for topical searches.

  • Re: Advice for Beta Testers

I'm new to Logos so I haven't ventured into the Betas yet, but I have beta tested software before. I just wanted to say that I appreciate all the beta testers and what that do to help make Logos better for all of us. I know the risks and frustrations of testing betas--a lot of risk and very little reward. Thank you!

  • Re: Deleting books from my logos library

Easiest way, I believe, is to : right-click library and choose "Open in a new tab" in the library search box type "publisher:perseus -language:english" from the Tools menu, select "Program Settings" make sure the "Hidden Resources" section is "open", displaying the drop box select the resulting books and drag them to the "Hidden Resources" drop box

  • Re: Spell Check.... PLEASE!!!!!

There are a number of open source spell checker libraries available (eg aspell). I'm not sure which license they use, but it might be worth investigating. There are also a number of dictionary word lists in the public domain. Logos should already have word list from their search indexes of all the words used in their resources, though it would have

  • Re: Copying

Regarding implementation, having scrolling windows would be ideal, but probably extremely difficult. A quicker solution, and likely easier for the developer and as easy for users, is to have an option to "Place Start Tag" on the long press menu. then when you move to the end position (which could be before or after the start tag), long pressing shows

I *thought* I had done this before. I'm nearly positive I reported a formatting problem from my Nexus 7 by selecting the text, clicking Share, and then emailing it to an email address specifically for typos & such. But I can't find that email address anywhere. Maybe I imagined it...

I understand how you feel. I felt the same way when Android first arrived. A lot of people did. But Android is designed to operate this way. That's why there is no close button. All apps respond to the back button the same way: it moves back to your previous location within the app until there are no previous locations (or none at all if there's no

  • Re: How do I close Android App ?

That's the way Android works. When you switch apps, the old app is sent a message and goes into a suspended mode, but remains in memory ready to be reawakened. If more apps are launched and memory is needed Android sends a message to the app and it gets closed so the memory can be reclaimed. It used to bother me. I like things neat. Close it when I
