  • Re: Spell Check.... PLEASE!!!!!

There are a number of open source spell checker libraries available (eg aspell). I'm not sure which license they use, but it might be worth investigating. There are also a number of dictionary word lists in the public domain. Logos should already have word list from their search indexes of all the words used in their resources, though it would have

  • Re: Copying

Regarding implementation, having scrolling windows would be ideal, but probably extremely difficult. A quicker solution, and likely easier for the developer and as easy for users, is to have an option to "Place Start Tag" on the long press menu. then when you move to the end position (which could be before or after the start tag), long pressing shows

  • Re: Reporting Typos in iPad

I *thought* I had done this before. I'm nearly positive I reported a formatting problem from my Nexus 7 by selecting the text, clicking Share, and then emailing it to an email address specifically for typos & such. But I can't find that email address anywhere. Maybe I imagined it...

  • Re: How do I close Android App ?

I understand how you feel. I felt the same way when Android first arrived. A lot of people did. But Android is designed to operate this way. That's why there is no close button. All apps respond to the back button the same way: it moves back to your previous location within the app until there are no previous locations (or none at all if there's no

  • Re: How do I close Android App ?

That's the way Android works. When you switch apps, the old app is sent a message and goes into a suspended mode, but remains in memory ready to be reawakened. If more apps are launched and memory is needed Android sends a message to the app and it gets closed so the memory can be reclaimed. It used to bother me. I like things neat. Close it when I

I would really really really love it if this were moved to the swipe down screen, next to favorites. Please.

  • Re: RECOMMENDATION: Upgrade FROM Scholars Base VS Baker's Exegetical VS NIC?

Peter, Thanks for the very helpful analysis. I probably will go with the upgrade to gold first. I think I knew it was the best move when I posted, but the sale price on what seems to be two very well regarded commentaries had me wavering. In the end though it does appear that there are more tools and more bang for the buck in doing the upgrade. I think

  • RECOMMENDATION: Upgrade FROM Scholars Base VS Baker's Exegetical VS NIC?

What would be my best upgrade? I've got the Scholar's base and was planning to upgrade to silver or gold as my next step, but I've read that these two commentary sets are highly recommended and understand the sale price is a pretty huge discount. The NIC would be a stretch. I'd have to do a payment plan and it would mean a long time before I can upgrade

  • Re: Why Can't I Download NASB95?

I had this happen to me several weeks ago on my Nexus 7. I ended up removing Logos and then re-installing and everything worked fine. Don't know what caused it or why re-installing fixed it, but there were a large number of resources that would not download (no download button) on my first install. Note that it actually fixed the problem when I went

  • Re: How do I study Hope?

Thanks, but I think I didn't explain it well. I was describing two approaches to the word study. You are correct that long pressing a word in the bible brings up a bit more info and relevant defs. The other approach i was describing was going to the search tab and paging over the Passage Guide & Word Study. Doing the word study that way resulted in

  • Open current resource in mobile app

There is a app for the Chrome browser, "Google Chrome to Phone Extension", that sends a notification to mobile devices with a link to the current web page being viewed. You can then open your phone, tablet, etc, click on the notification and read the page on the mobile device. I'd love to have the same thing in Logos desktop. It's generally much easier

  • Re: How do I study Hope?

I tried the word studies too. Unfortunately, they were less helpful than I hoped. For ex, Heb 11:1, pulling a word study on "Faith" gives a couple defs from Louw-Nida and DBL Greek, gives the translation wheel, and example uses. If I go directly to the Bible Word Study Guid off of the Search tab, it's even less helpful, with a Merriam-Webster def, and

  • How do I study Hope?

Or how can I use the Android app to study any subject or topic? On the desktop app, searching for a topic brings up a "Topics" tab with a list of dictionaries and topical textbooks which is exactly what I'm looking for. I can't get the same results in the Android app. It will give me a long list of occurrences of that word in every resource, but that

  • No links or selections in footnotes?

Reading "The Pursuit of Happiness", Chapter 2, pg 22-23, on my Nexus 7. I have the option on that shows footnotes at the bottom. The footnotes at the bottom as well as the footnote when in a popup doesn't show scripture references as links, and I can't even select the text to do a search. Is this intentional, not yet implemented or something to do with

  • Re: Logos Android manual?

Not that I've found. I'm still new to the app myself. There are some videos on the Logos Bible Software youtube channel, but some of them seem to be already out of date... I'm guessing from some posts I've read that there has been a recent interface change. I've learned what I know from playing around with it and stumbling across info here in the forums

  • Re: Nexus 7 Experience (Bugs/Suggestions)

When reading devotionals/reading plans, It would be nice if the back button returned to the list of devotionals. Like where in the passage guide you can click on refs or commentaries, view the resource and the hit back to return to passage guide. It would make reading multiple devotionals and plans much easier. I can't get anything done for spending

  • Re: What is the minimal resource set for full functionality when offline?

Ok. That makes sense. I hope it makes it in there someday, but it's mostly a nice-to-have feature for me. I'm extremely happy with what's there now. I really can't get over how great these programs are, both the PC and the Mobile. Everything is easy that should be easy. Thanks for the reply, Randy.

  • What is the minimal resource set for full functionality when offline?

I tried a quick search to find an answer to this with no luck. Is there a list somewhere of the minimal set of resources needed to have full functionality for offline use? I.e. for complete Word Studies, Passage Guide, etc. Is this something that would make sense as a built-in option, to have Logos automatically select such a set and download it for

In the library search, typing an apostrophe does not match an apostrophe in a title. I can't get a search string to match against Expositor's or Disciple's, etc. As soon as I type an apostrophe, It returns zero matches.

  • Re: Offline Bibles?

No notes or highlights. First time user, first time install. It mostly appears to be working now except for being unresponsive while downloading any resource, even downloading one at a time (wifi connection to DSL ~12 Mbps). It seems like the downloading & syncing are being done in the main app. Wouldn't it perform better if syncing/downloading were
