• Re: Kindle Fire HD or Google Nexus 7--how well do they work with Logos/Vyrso?

Rumors are the slimmer 32GB Nexus will come in at the same price as the "older" 16GB. Rumors also say 10" coming, price unknown; and a $99 version, specs unknown - possibly subsidized through mobile carrier. And I suspect they would drop the price on the 16GB to $200, but that's speculation. So possibly worth the wait. I jumped at the 16GB when they

  • Re: LOGOS 5

I imagine there were a few that snagged it that day. Alpha 5 now. New features are unavailable without new/updated resources so no reason for folks to go crazy about a little slip that didn't reveal much. And I imagine, it's somewhat unethical for any who did to discuss it.

It is against the law to copy the entire contents of a book, in most cases. You can quote shorter extracts. Otherwise, you will need to contact the author of the work for larger extracts.

  • Re: Windows 8 and Logos

Beautiful. I was under the impression from previous posts that Logos was "waiting to see" on Windows RT, that you were only proceeding with standard Window 8. I'm curious as to whether the RT version would be an applet or the full desktop version. Either way, Great news!

I believe it's intended to that way. Like a newspaper. There's only so much you can put on the front page. You have to abbreviate the stories and let the user turn the page to read the stories they're interested in instead of having the user flip through 2 dozen pages to find something interesting.
So am I getting this all right? Missing books, inability to download and in other forums, scraggly unclear fonts? Why bother buying a tablet then?
I ran into a problem on initial install (and a few others seem to have run into it also) where some books where not available for download. Uninstall and reinstalling

  • Re: Kindle Fire HD or Google Nexus 7--how well do they work with Logos/Vyrso?

I had the first Kindle Fire. It was a love-hate deal. The size is a perfect compromise for readability vs portability (any of the 7" tabs will fit in my pocket; anything bigger would not). My main gripe with the original was the interface and lack of app support. Both of these can be gotten around. One of the first things I did with it was root it and

  • Re: SLOWER & slowerrrrrrrrr

What version of Logos are you using? Did you get the accidental upgrade last weekend? I find L4 (stable & beta) works fairly quick (or at least a lot quicker than what you describe) on a similarly equipped system: Win7 64 on i7 w/ 12GB.

Noah is the first person described as being born after the death of Adam. His birth, ... signify continuity with Adam ... The connections ... cast Noah as a new Adam. The way the whole paragraph is worded and structured looks to me like they are trying to demonstrate continuity. The next sentence and the paragraph as a whole seem to indicate that they

  • Re: Error WPF 0x88980406

Are you using the stable version of Logos or the Beta? Because of the issues in the current Beta, I highly recommend the Stable at this time. Also, what repairs were made to the computer? Software issues? This WPF seems to relate to .NET. But that's just a guess. It may help if you can post any logs by following the steps here: http://wiki.logos.com

  • Re: A free desktop version?

Signing up for the Failthlife Study Bible will make all the resources available on the Logos Desktop along with the notes. Just make sure that they all use the same email for Study Bible, & Logos that they use for Faithlife.

When does it freeze up? The log covers a very short period of time ~3 min. I see you opened your KJV from the command prompt to John 15. You then opened the MacArthur Study Bible. Did the freeze happen as you were typing in "MacArthur"? or while it was loading the resources? How long is a long time? How often does it freeze up? What are you doing when

  • Re: 4.6a Beta 3 "new" reason to crash?

I would say it's the same thing. They seem to be modifying their database formats and the transition is blowing up everything. (Loading docs, i.e. user content, should never ever ever cause an app to crash though! - they are not integral to the functioning of the app.) I'm guessing this is related to Layouts from the log. As always, just a guess. Does
You also might want to check out LearnLogos.com
I've learned a good bit from these. More, I think, from the Bible Study webinar series than the training pack, although it is useful too -- I liked the webinar format better where it plays through continuously instead of in small chunks on the training series and

  • Re: Logos Bible Software 4 has stopped working

I'm not sure this is a problem with .NET or VC redist. This is probably an issue best resolved by calling Logos. I can only make guesses. If it happened on my machine, I would probably uninstall Microsoft VC redist. I'm not sure which is being used, either 2008 or 2010. Then reinstall those from: 2008 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details
I just bought Logos 4! I hope the upgrade won't be too costly.
I'm fairly new to Logos myself. I think when they upgrade they offer a cross-grade package at around $60-70, IIRC. But I would be surprised if they released Logos 5 anytime soon. Surely not for another 6 months or so, I would say.
