• Re: How Would One...?

Is there a way, in L4, to do this? Or would it have to be done manually
Unfortunately there is currently no way to create timelines in Logos 4. This could be done in Logos 3 with by creating a timeline file using XML markup. Not in L4.
Thanks, Mark: would it be too much trouble

  • Re: Go sit in a Morris Proctor Seminar

Thanks, Rosie (I have a daughter named Rosie!); I have watched nearly every video over there, except the ones dealing with languages, I think. The wiki is a little confusing to me, but I've been over there whenever I was looking for something specific, too. There have been a few seminars nearby (Austin, TX) already, so I imagine there will be others

  • Prayer list: Partial answers?

When you have been praying for an item and God provides what is obviously part of an answer, or something which may turn into the answer but that is not clear yet... 1) Do you record this? 2) How do you record it? I want to put this in the answers column, but don't want the prayer to disappear from the schedule. I'm hoping others have found a way to

  • Re: Logos Signed in and Open on Two Computers?

Rosie: yes, thanks...the percentage IS going up...just slowly. I had it downloading all night, stopped it when it said 63% of 5+g download, restarted it a few hours later and it reported downloading a 1.45g download, and it is now at 73% of that. The reason I had the question is that I did go ahead and try to open Logos on the laptop, and it cooperated

  • Re: Logos: THANKS For The New Update!

Wanted to add: Thanks for bringing back the library book slideshow in the ribbon...I always loved that in L3, and now it's back...it was a minor thing, but it really added to my experience. Already found a book my 12 year old will enjoy that I didn't even know I had. Esther
I am in an internet group of gals who are learning to use LOGOS more extensively and effectively for prayer and study. These issues will be a problem for them as well. Therefore, I am giving them a heads up on the issues I am experiencing.
Is any gal who wants to learn to use LOGOS more extensively elligible to join this internet group

  • Re: Logos: THANKS For The New Update!

Jumping on the bandwagon to say "thanks very much and God bless you" for the update: I popped over to the list of changes and my thought was: Wow! Are we picky people or what???? Yet Logos listens and tries to please us. I am so ignorant about bible study software that I don't have a clue what other options are out there, but I bet their companies don

  • Re: Security and Privacy Concern about Logos4 Phonning Home

At the risk of sounding as if I don't know what I'm talking about, or that I'm trying to get people to move away from using L4...I would like to suggest that perhaps L4 is not the correct software for the OP??? Perhaps there is a software that does not put your private information at risk the way you think L4 does, and perhaps that is the software you

  • Re: SUGGESTION: Entire passage and scroll bar in pop-ups

Here's another possible solution to the problem: When hovering the mouse over the link that says "more"...MORE actually appears. As it stands now, the pop-up begins at the beginning of the link, which is the SAME information as what is printed before you. Sometimes it is a few words or lines longer, often it is less. I think most of my frustration
http://wiki.logos.com/Prayer_List is now officially completed. Please read it and offer suggestions. A free emoticon cup of coffee for the person recognizing where I am being a smart-aleck.
Thanks...looks good. I'm a non-liturgical Protestant, but often find help and direction in prayer from liturgical sources, so thanks

  • Re: Overwhelmed

It doesn't sound dumb at all, and I'm glad you posted your request. I'll bet you'll get a lot of help! I think that first off you should quit beating yourself up because studying on the computer is different than studying from books. Lots of studies are showing that people read and assimilate information differently from the computer than they do from

I'm interested in any thoughts about how people here on this forum would use their L4 in this scenario. What keystrokes would you use? What layout? Would you use note-taking software or the notes feature in L4? Why or why not? Any other software you might use side-by-side with L4 or One Note to

Perhaps at 38 I'm too old for this, but I favor doing your study at home and participating in any discussion at church without a computer or iphone or whatever. There's something about bringing a piece of technical equipment into the church and sticking your nose in it that simply doesn't appeal

Douglas; This sounds like the best setup for my situation yet! So you take your laptop right into church, eh? I've thought about asking, but still feel George's reluctance. Probably it is good sometimes to just sit and let the diligently-preached Word wash over us; but I am encouraged that some people really are taking their laptops into church. As

  • Time for Wednesday Night Bible Study...

Our baby church has just begun midweek services. I am aware that the majority of L4 users are pastors, preachers, teachers and lay leaders: which means most of the time you are at the front, and if you have your computer and L4 with you, you are using it to teach. But what if not? I am a lay person, and have the opportunity to have my L4 with me during

  • Link Notes to Prayer List Items?

I actually have a note file for several people that I pray for regularly. These are quite large in some cases, so I was wondering if I could somehow place a link to a person's notefile into the request box in the prayer list utility? This would allow me to be reminded to pray for them, but would make it easy to open up their notefile to be able to pray

  • How to AVOID backing up?

So, I've had this laptop less than two months, and it crashed. I was comforted knowing that I wouldn't lose anything important related to my logos. The backup program I was using to keep the rest of my stuff turned out to have been a bad investment...it didn't work, and I lost everything else. Now I am in the process of redesigning my back up process

HI! First of all...if you want to discuss the alleged false teaching of Jack Hayford, there's probably a better place to do it than hijacking this thread, which has a defined purpose that doesn't include exposing false teachers. Second of all...I started out with the eBible. It was affordable and much better than fumbling around through my 8-pound Strong
