  • Update Resources Option Removed...

Howdy from Texas! With version 8.4, I notice that that the download resources function has changed. If you buy even a small package, the new resources stay in the cloud, unless you choose the option of downloading resources as soon as the program is opened. It used to be that Logos would tell you how many mb of resources were waiting to be downloaded

  • Re: Free Grace Theology

Miss Susan, The simplest way I know to describe "Free Grace" is the saying: "faith alone in Christ alone." In other words, "not of works lest any man [person] should boast." As opposed to, as mentioned above, "if He's not Lord of all, He's not Lord at all." In other words, God saved us, and all we have to do is believe it, and it is ours. Receive it

Just wanted to thank everyone for the hard work you've put into this project. Thanks to Coty's advice, I was able to open my Logos software, and thanks to the links provided, find both the Docs lists and the Reader's List in my software. It looks like I'm missing quite a few from my library...Grrrr...but I do have a couple. Can't imagine how much time

John, When I try to get it, and click on "Details," it says your file(s) are listed as "private." Can you find a way to change the listing to "public?" Thank you so much. Paul

  • Re: Free Grace Theology

I think one of the challenges, for Faithlife Corp., would be to assign someone to oversee the selection, and make sure the volumes included qualify as "Free Grace." Since this is a relatively new movement, there is a danger of causing dissension over which books ought to be included, and which ones ought to be excluded. Normally, and traditionally,

  • Re: Thumbs Up, Faithlife! Updated Resources list

David, I was going to make a post on this, but you beat me to it. Not only is it fantastic to see the "resources updated" feature back, but it's also amazing *the way* that Logos structures it. For the books you can click on the link, and go right to them. And the layout is so professional looking, and you can click somewhere, and they go on one of

Wow, SineNomine, you're in the same boat I'm in, then, just the Verbum version and libraries instead of the Logos ones. Well, glad you received the Logos freebie, then. Blessings to you as well.

Very good point, JT. What I was thinking was that it's a pretty good assumption that the bulk of Logos users have Bronze libraries, at minimum. So, as a corporate policy, why not favor those who do? Does that make sense? Keep in mind the ones who have paid, vs. the ones who have less than Bronze. When Logos first started, there was one free book a year

Jan, That's probably a much wiser and more mature response to this circumstance than mine was. Sure do appreciate your input. Blessings. Paul

  • Monthly free resources...

I must admit that I look forward to the first of every month like a child looks forward to Christmas...because I know that Logos is going to give me several new books as gifts. And I have found each one to expand my knowledge and awareness rather greatly. I hope I am not expressing greed here, but I have to admit that I was rather shocked to discover

  • Re: Logos 8 Basic *and* Verbum 8 Basic....

Thank you, Dave. I do get the free Verbum book of the month each time. I am *not* wanting the Verbum software. I just want the temporary license on the resources it offers that are "New to You" in Verbum Basic. So you're saying to go ahead and order Verbum Basic, even while I have Logos 8 Silver collection (as well as one of the Academic collections

  • Logos 8 Basic *and* Verbum 8 Basic....

For those of us who already have Logos 8, it is still valuable to order "Basic" because you get resources you don't already have, albeit they are only a temporary license...but one that will probably last for years. I tried checking the resources in Verbum 8 Basic, and found several rather fascinating ones that are not in my library. I was wondering

  • Samples from your existing library...

I made a suggestion with someone on the Logos staff that it would be nice to bring back the Logos 7 (and other versions) feature of showing random excerpts from your library on the Home Page. I mentioned that what this creates is a sense of thankfulness for the library that you already have, with the frequent response of "I didn't realize *that* book

Thank you, Mr. Criddle. Boy did I need to see that page! You'r so consistently kind, and I do appreciate your ministry in these forums. I hope Logos will consider adding you to their staff if they haven't already. I saved the link so I can look at it again from time to time. Looks like we're embarking on a whole new ball game! Salute!

  • Notification of downloaded resources in Logos 8...

Another thing I miss from Logos 7 is that, after you receive a download of updated resources, you could go to the Home Page, and at the top you would see how many resources were updated, and which they were (in a drop-down list). We can't anymore. Plus, in that same area, there would be notice of what version of Logos SRxx you were using. Hope these

  • Re: Indexing is halting at 22%

If you have Windows the following might help. If you use the Disk Cleanup utility, it has an option to clean out Temporary files. Be sure to check that box, and then run the Utility. Logos uses the temporary space there to do its indexing. I have had problems before, over and over, when I didn't clean those temp files before an indexing job started

  • Update on word wrap for Prayer List...

Howdy again from Texas, Just wanted to note a discovery I made re: the prayer list panel inside the software, as opposed to on the Home Page. I wrote previously that I missed the word wrap that was on the Home Page in Logos 7. Well, as someone may have mentioned, one can put just a brief phrase in the Prayer List line, then add more details about that
