  • Re: WARNING: Installing BETA 3 can initiate re-installation!

Sorry for the trouble. A problem with the Logos4.msi caused Windows Installer to delete the Logos4 registry key, as Dave has pointed out, though it only affected certain users updating along a certain update path. There are several affected keys, Logging, LastWindowPlacement and InstallDirectory. The first means that if you want logging, which as Rosie

Tom—I forgot to mention—any log files you can find would be great, e.g. Logos4.log, Logos4Indexer.log, logos4setup.log, DigitalLibraryInstall.log and PrerequisitesInstall.log. Thanks, Bryan

  • Re: bug: logos will not start (again)

The error in the log file occurs at the end of the download process with an error message "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." At the time of the error, the downloading process (Microsoft's BITS) is probably trying to rename the temporary file with the actual file name. I did a little web searching and I

How did you reprogram the flicks for Logos4? Was this in Win7 settings or Logos...or both? Thanks for your help.

  • Re: 4.1 Beta 9 Installation failure

Rosie, Here's what's going on: for some reason, the setup bootstrapper Logos4Setup.exe was launched twice, which launched two instances of Windows Installer. The first succeeded and the second failed, and that's why you saw an error message and yet your system was successfully updated. We had a bug like this before, though it was fixed a good while

[quote user="Andreas Holmberg"] I've enabled loggin using the suggested script. However, when I'm bumped a log file does not seem to be produced as I never actually enter Logos. I attach the log file that is produced if I choose to NOT have Logos install the update. Then Logos 4.0c starts as usual and I suspect the log file will not show anything strange

  • Re: Tweaks to "Read Aloud" Feature

Floyd - I use Text Aloud as well. A great program. But, yes, if Logos would provide some of these tools built in the software, it would really add a lot to L4 in my opinion. Without these features, the text-to-speech feature really is not very useful at all.

  • Re: Markups & Highlighting

Honestly, I would much prefer Logos just provide the ability to do a simple yellow highlighter option for us ASAP while in the meantime working out the kinks toward allowing a full palette of markups. Just a plain highlighter would at least allow us to later skip through our markups in L4 and quickly review what stuck out in our reading. Eventually

I've had the shortcuts bar crash since at least November. I have been hoping for the same. I frequently made use of the diagram tool in Logos 3, but would be sure to note that several improvements could be made. However, I would prefer have the old tool back in the updated version as it was than not have it at all.
