Sorry, Kevin, I was writing while your previous "please keep on topic" was going up.

  • Re: Logos on eInk/eReader Device

Honestly, the return of the Send to Kindle feature would be my preferred option (it was one of the determining factors for my initial L6 purchase). I really would prefer to not have to spend more money on "yet another device". However, I seriously doubt that will return (I can only imagine the licencing nightmare this caused with Publishers due to the

  • Re: Logos on eInk/eReader Device

Honestly, I would LOVE to have something like this. My eyesight is starting to have a LOT of problems with glossy screens, so I'm having a hard time locating a good portable option for my Logos library (especially since the Send to Kindle was taken away). My one concern would be the limitations of Android 4.2 on the device. How long would the device

  • Re: New Feature: Send to Kindle

Don, It looks like Amazon's "Send to Kindle" service (which Logo's "Send to Kindle" function uses) only works for iOS and Android apps and any Kindle device, but does not include Kindle for PC or Kindle for Mac ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_pdoc_main_short_us?nodeId=200767340 ) To get the books into the Kindle for PC

Same error here. Running Moto X 16GB (1.5GB free) on Android 4.4.2 (phone only has internal storage - no SD card). Not really wanting to play the re-download game, will wait and see if a more elegant fix shows up. Thankfully, the phone is only an emergency backup for Logos reading (eyes are getting a little too old for extended reading on a little phone

  • Re: Logos 6.0: What features do you want?

As many others have stated: No more use of WPF Touch friendly interface One thing I would personally love would be the ability to see Bible texts without Chapter/Verse numbers and Periscope Headings, but still preserving the paragraph formatting. Another would be optimizing the startup time for those of us not in the SSD lane. I've only seen seriously

  • Re: My Dream Windows 8.x Tablet that runs Logos

JoshInRI, Thanks for the heads up. ASUS just recently refreshed the line and so far reviews are looking better than the first run (majority of people are saying the trackpad issues [other than the noise ones] seem to be resolved). Finances are tight for right now, so it's not something that is going to happen in the near future. Hopefully something

  • Re: My Dream Windows 8.x Tablet that runs Logos

The big point I don't think you will get around on your wish-list is the sub $300 price tag with a digitizer. There are only 2 Win 8.x tablets that I'm aware of that fall under $300 with a stylus: ASUS VivoTab Note 8 and Dell Venue 8 Pro (these run $250-280, but Dell sells the digitizer pen separately). Both these systems are only 8" and are also hamstrung

The infamous internet transpose "teh" makes it in a few times as well. Once you weed out the use of it in pronunciations, there are several in the Perseus collection. Even have it in one of the Bibles (NCV). Thankfully the error is NOT in the Bible text, but the introduction: What Is the Bible About? The Bible cannot be considered just a “crutch” that

  • Re: SOLID STATE HARDRIVE MEMORY: LOGOS?

I'm running on a 256GB SSD on my Lenovo E430 and have plenty of space for L5, Office 2013 Pro, Adobe Lightroom and Elements 10. This is with Win8 x64 Pro. I have tons of other stuff taking up space, and still have around 64GB free. With what you have listed, those programs with the OS should only take about 100GB. One nice thing about SSDs is that the

  • Re: New laptop specs for L5-question on hard drive?

The 32 GB drive is probably either ONLY for the OS or is used in a "hybrid" configuration as a cache for the larger drive. If the ONLY difference between the two systems is the memory 8GB vs 16GB and the tiny SSD, go for the less expensive model (unless they did an Apple and soldered the memory to the motherboard) You can manually upgrade the memory

[quote user="777"] As far as software speed goes, BibleWorks is like a McLaren F1 vs. the Logos 1960 Rambler American with the on-dash push button transmission. BibleWorks is the good stuff. • Re: L5 Loss of all useful commentaries (except 1 or 2)

I have to agree with the disappointing commentaries in L5. If I was in the market for Bible software these days, I think I would have to look elsewhere - considering the price. I had L4 Platinum before L5 rolled out, but I would certainly pass on L5 if I was starting from scratch - I don't see enough value in the full price (seems to be too many post

  • Re: Bloated like Version 4? Pricing Concerns

As to the pricing, I agree with many of the complaints on the forums. IMHO, Logos really needs to think about how they handle major rollouts. The communication available for both the L4 and L5 launches was sub-par at best. One shouldn't have to fish the forums to get the answers to basic questions. What I think should have been made ABUNDANTLY clear

  • Re: Bloated like Version 4? Pricing Concerns

Took the plunge on opening day and have found L5 to be more responsive (for the most part). In normal usage I have found L5 (with online sync on) to run about the same speed as L4 (with internet off), ie.; most of the stuttering/pausing when sync is running seems to be gone. Scrolling through resources windows and your library is noticeably snappy

A mobile app just recently appeared in the Microsoft App store. It is VERY basic right now. I haven't had much of a chance to test drive it yet, but currently it looks like it is just a basic ONLINE ONLY reader (think Biblia as an app - without anything more than a basic search).

I have to agree with many of the posters already that the price is the main factor for my reservations in recommending the FSB to anyone beyond the FREE period. Other than being well formatted for Logos, there isn't much that I have seen (at this point) that is much different from other digital or "dead-tree" study bibles that seems worth paying $29
