• Re: iPhone Hyperlink or operator error?

I'm very pleased and thankful for the assistance and dialogue by both you, Graham, and Alabama. From what I've gleaned, I would say the following sums up hyperlinks the best:
L4 is an internal reference and stays within the app whereas URL goes "outside" and so can potentially invoke different apps.
Yes, 'bama, having made the change to L4, the link is opening directly to its resource on ALL devices. I am no longer being directed to the resource through the Vyrso app while on my phone.
Alabama's suggestion may be pointing us in the right direction but I don't know how to force which app is involved
Right! Thanks to you for your help and I will keep an eye out for further developments. A very, Merry Christmas to you Galen

I don't know if this link from Wiki logos on creating hyperlinks helps you. It's a lot for me to understand. Table of Contents

  • Re: iPhone Hyperlink or operator error?

Ok, Graham. I have changed to L4 and created two new notes on my Mac for the "ACTS" document. Each note has an individual link to a separate resource, John Stott's Message of Acts, and The Expositor's Luke-Acts. Testing each link on my phone resulted in opening only the resource with the text I had selected. This was done without opening another app

  • Re: iPhone Hyperlink or operator error?

Wow! Well, it is an option on the Mac and I will change to L4 and try it, although since I se you use L4, I wonder if it matters!. Also, from your earlier suggestion to try a different resource I have taken a reference from John Stott's The Message of Acts , and the link opens the Vyrso app and goes to the reference.

    Ok, so to this:
The first thing I would try? Delete the "wrong" app! My guess is that those links have somehow associated themselves in iOS (on your device) to the Vyrso app. I believe deleting the app will cause it to work properly
My question is: if the issue always involved opening Vyrso to obtain the reference, are

No, Graham, I have URL selected.

Thanks for the reply, Graham. You are correct. I use the Logos app exclusively on my phone. I rarely - if ever - use the Vyrso app. On occasion, I've swapped over to Vyrso when the Logos app was hanging up, but I can't tell you how long ago that has been. I haven't discovered Vyrso's usefulness since the Logos app does all I thought I needed it to do

  • Re: iPhone Hyperlink or operator error?

I guess I shouldn't care how this works, but I don't understand! You were correct to suggest unchecking the "show only Vyrso resources" option. That made the Josephus book available. To bring this full circle for you, the link now works from my notes. Tappingit opens the Vyrso app and brings me to the page with the information on it. Its a very clunky

  • iPhone Hyperlink or operator error?

Over the years, I have added, and continue to add, numerous notes to my personal documents associated with my preferred Bible, the KJV , using my MacBook Pro . I don't generally create hyperlinks except those that happen automatically when entering verses of Scripture (i.e. John 3.16). Recently, as I was adding a note to Acts 12 regarding King Herod

  • Re: Another Notes issue :(

Rosie, it's interesting you mention this and ties in well with the excitement I had when the post on the text formatting issue matched what I was experiencing. After the shock of seeing my original post sans the screenshots, I said, "Now I look like a dufus." I began to try to post again Moving my screenshots to my desktop screen and, using the paperclip

Graham - you're pretty sharp. I looked over the text formatting discussion you suggested and am confident I'm experiencing the same issue documented there. Also, it was nice to read Logos has discovered a bug and I hope it will be fixed soon! Thanks for your great help. Galen

  • Re: Another Notes issue :(

Alabama - Graham Criddle was dead on pointing me to a text formatting discussion with the same issue. I'm sorry for the confusing post earlier. I used Grab to select screen shots and pasted them into my post (beautifully, I might add - if only you could see them). Boy was I horrified when they didn't appear in the post. Again, thank you for your help

  • Re: Notes: Text Formatting

I'm so thankful to Graham Criddle for pointing me to this thread. I was having trouble describing this same issue with Notes in another forum. I am running Yosemite 10.10.3 and Logos 6.2.0.0027. I hope this sufficient! Thank you Galen

I had copied and pasted screen shots to show the steps I took, but they did not transfer with the post (???). So if anyone can still follow my train of thought, though it would seem difficult WITHOUT THE PICTURES, I deeply appreciate any help....... Galen

  • [resolved] Another Notes issue :(

I thought an earlier post (Notes issue) had provided the solution to my quandary. Though it may have been on topic, I found out it wasn't quite the answer :( I have inadvertently done something to limit my highlighting options with my notes. I have clicked something somewhere in the process and I don't know what it was! Previously, if I had wanted to

  • Re: Notes Problem

Recently, I have been dealing with a notes issue of a different flavor. I began searching the "General" heading hoping to find a similar thread with a solution. Your reply to David got me to look at the lemma option (I actually need to select the lemma option), and that was the answer. Thanks, YS!
