  • Re: Favorite Logos Resource and why?

BBDAG and any reference book!! It can be hard to read large amount of text on a computer screen. BUT reference books?!? Heavens to Mergatroid! Reference books are all about speed, accuracy and integration. Logos is at it's very best pulling together reference materials and BDAG is the current pinnacle of the art in biblical studies. Bob

  • Re: Does Logos Master you or are you Master of Logos?

Way back before Logos, when all I had was a KayPro 2 to do word processing promised vowed to never use a computer to perform a task that I could not perform by hand. In today's idiom: don't "do" digitally what you can't do with analog. Now, there are tasks I can do with analog tools, that would be impractical to do every week-there is just not enough

  • Re: A Christmas wish....

Alan, That certainly gets the job done, that is essentially what I do know except I go directly to an external note taking program. It would be much more clean if the program did this internally. It already gathers collapsible headers and compiles links beneath them. If those links were also collapsible headers then the resource could just open where

  • A Christmas wish....

Don't know if this a good spot for feature request. But here it goes. I'm smoothing out my Christmas eve message and using sermon starter, topic guide, and Word stud guide to drill down on a single term. When you click on a link it opens the resource in another tile (or flips to the right page if you have the resource open) My wish is the ability to

  • Re: L5 Mac Less Stable Than L4?

I have not noticed these problems. My Mac is pretty old and L5 has been both more stable and faster. I hope that you can track down what's up Bob

  • First, preliminary impressions.

After my concerns regarding pricing I thought it important to share my first impressions about L5 after going with the minimal cross grade. Everything seems faster and more stable. Once all the downloading and indexing and waiting, things just seem to flow very good. I have not done much to really crunch things on either the PC or OS X side, but my

  • Re: Maps in Logos5

Thanks for the quick reply. I had pretty much figured it out by then. These forums are quite the crutch. Like using an interlinear in Greek class back in the old days! Bob

  • Maps in Logos5

I just did the minimal cross grade and am trying to get up to speed with this Sunday's text. Can anyone tell me how to access maps? I know they were under tools in logos 4 but can't seem to find them in Logos 5 Thanks Bob

Additionally.....the couple of week delay allows us to see how the early adopters are doing and whether or not there are issues to be worked out in the programming and implementation of the tools

Yeah after the shock wore off it was clear that some of the new tools will be very useful. I also anticipate some juicy hermeneutical discussions as people of I certain age (I'm nearly 50) try and incorporate the growing emphasis on discourse analysis over and against philological and/or grammatical-critical principles. I think that the company figured
