Deleting Multiple Layouts

So I just paid some actual attention to my "Recent" layouts and discovered I have layouts still "saved" from 2010! How many hundreds of layouts I may have in the "recent" section is uncertain, but one thing I know... I cannot figure out a way to delete a mass number of them all at once. Is that possible, or must I really delete them one by one!

Also, is it still true that if all the layouts on the "recent" side are deleted, that all the saved ones on the left side are also deleted, or was that "fixed" (I noted that issue in another post, but it was from 2011).

BUG: Text Comparison case-insenstive

I just noticed that the text comparison tool is case-insensitive. Hence, comparing Robinson's GNT ("Byz") with the SBLGNT, I get all differences in text (blue) and punctuation (red circle), but not the resulting changes in case (eg. when due to a full-stop instead a comma, a new sentence begins.)

I would think that the concomitant change in case due to a change in punctuation should be marked as difference as well (perhaps with a blue circle?). What do you think?

Bug: Parallel resources vanished

Re: Logos Bible Software 4.5c SR-4 (4.53.0.2299) running on a Windows XP computer with two monitors.

I was reading several commentaries by using the right an left arrows to cycle through my prioritized list when the arrow keys suddenly failed to change resources. I used the drop-down Parallel Resources list to go to another commentary but after a few minutes when I wanted to change commentaries again, the Parallel Resource list was completely empty (message said No Parallel Resources)!!

I closed and restarted Logos and then found that the Parallel Resource icon had now vanished in my commentary column as you can see in the right pane above the title EZEKIEL below:

I used the + icon to attempt to open another pane for BKC (Bible Knowledge Commentary), but got the same result - a pane with no Parallel Resource icon. I closed both BCK tabs and used the text command "Open BKC". That created a new tab that had the Parallel Resource icon. When I clicked on it, the left side under "All parallel resources" was populated, but the right column was blank.

I have done absolutely nothing to the program since using it yesterday (other than shutting down the computer last night and starting it today). Logos updated itself yesterday, but it was working fine for many hours after that update and i used it for about an hour today before encountering these problems.

Thanks, hopefully it is in the works. It is just a matter of priorities and it seems PBB has never been much of a priority after rolling it out.

Bug Fixes

Bible Word Study
- Fixed crash when working in or refreshing a BWS. (See this thread and this thread.)
Personal Books
- Fixed crash when compiling a book due to the PBB trying to apply numbering styles to a paragraph when there were none to apply. (See this thread.)
- Search hits in Personal Books will now be highlighted in the text.
- Fixed formatting issues in error message display.
Resource Panel
- Fixed the justification rule from requiring three characters between a hyphen and the end of a word to requiring three letters.
- Fixed some justification issues with numbered lists.
- Fixed bug that caused underlining resource text to obscure diacritics displayed below the line.
Search Panel
- Fixed bug that caused Basic Search to run instead of Bible Search with “Search this resource” context menu option in a Bible when “Greek (or Hebrew) Strong’s,” “Louw-Nida,” or “Manuscript” was selected.
- Fixed bug that caused a ‘You don’t have a license to view this resource...’ error message to appear when clicking on a specific book in the ‘Topic’ section of the Basic Search.

Previous Known Issues

Personal Books
- Books compiled in the beta cycle will expire, at the latest, when 4.3 is shipped to the stable channel due to further changes that will be made.
- Personal Books will not automatically sync between computers.
- Personal Books from LDLS3 (*.lbxpbb) cannot be read in Logos 4; they will need to be recompiled from the original sources. For more information, see this thread.
- Not all formatting is preserved, e.g. margins, indentation, paragraph and text spacing, text effects and word art, highlighting, and fill effects are ignored.
- Text boxes, charts, embedded documents and other similar features are not supported.
- From within the PB panel, a Personal Book cannot be dragged to the Shortcut bar or to a particular location on the screen to control where the book opens. (See this thread.)
- Although a resource can be built with the “Bible” type, it will not function correctly as a Bible in Logos 4 (e.g., Copy Bible Verses, Bible Text Only, etc., do not work).
Sync
- Sync of new/edited Copy Bible Verses styles will fail on a stable install where the login is also used for a beta install. (See this thread or this thread.)

Bug: In Passage List, Bible references/ranges are only accepted once in the text field; cannot be moved around without doubling though.

In Passage List, I noticed that certain Bible references were not accepted, or so I thought. Turns out that I had already included them earlier on in my list. It is not possible to enter Bible references twice. It is possible however, to drag and drop Bible references, which has the effect of doubling the passage (instead of moving it).

Can this be regarded as a bug? Or is this by design / desired behavior? I certainly would like to be able to add some verses/passages more than once sometimes; and also I’d like to be able to move verses around within the Passage List, without them doubling with each drag&drop!

Steps to recreate:
1. Create a Passage List and fill it up with some Bible references/ranges.
2. Try to enter the same Bible references twice (it doesn’t get accepted).
3. Try to move a Bible reference around within the Passage List, by drag&drop (the reference gets doubled with each move).

Currently, I’m using Logos 4 for Windows; didn’t yet confirm this on Mac OS X.

BUG: Logos doesn't count columns in some resources

I wanted to show the book Crazy Love in two parallell columns, but it only displayed one. I had already opened Crazy love in my book reading layout When I clicked on three-, four, or five columns it displayed only two. I tried to restart the program to see i the problem was fixed, but it wasn't. I also tried other resources, both eBooks and Logos editions and they all worked properly apart from Forgotten God and Erasing Hell. (Something wrong with Francis Chan?[:P]) When I tried to open Crazy Love in a floating window to cover my entire screen it changed number of columns automatically, but it still showed only one when I wanted it to show two.

All the books where shown in the same panel in the same floating window.

BTW: Logos has displayed parallel windows in significantly smaller panels .

EDIT: When I applied 3 columns (or more) on Crazy Love and it displayed two another problem occurred. Logos changed from displaying two to displaying one column when I tried to mark text in it.

BUG: The Strange Case of the Disappearing ESV Interlinear

Not sure why, but today my ESV Interlinear keeps disappearing (see below):

Now for the strangest part...If I toggle the Interlinear button off/on, an interlinear appears...but for a separate (NIV) study I'm doing of Nehemiah (see below). You can see I've given the word "Children" focus in Mark 7:27 in this example. Clicking around will make the Interlinear go blank again.

Bookmarks as part of Layout

I'm not sure if there already exists an answer to this problem, but is there any way to keep bookmarks linked to particular "Layouts"? If I'm doing a study say for Sunday's teaching in Luke, save that "Layout" (current snapshot), then open a different layout, say for our midweek study in Psalms, all of the bookmarks saved when I was last in Psalms have been replaced with the ones made in Luke. Is there a way to keep bookmarks made in one "Layout" to stay with that layout, and not be replaced by those made in another layout?

Bug: L4.5a "Styled" text can creep outside columns, making selection impossible

I noticed that I couldn't add highlighting to a word in the ESV--upon closer inspection, it is because text can get forced across a column boundary & make it impossible to select in a single movement.

When I try to open the program, it crashes

Steps to reproduce

Load Logos 4
(If I hold down ctrl, I can get into the login screen but when I try loading a blank homepage, I still crash)

Actual Result

Crash. Error screen of :"Logos Bible Software 4 has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

Expected Result
Instead of crashing I expected Logos 4 to open.
