It appears that the Bible reference font is Source Sans Pro. When I use that for the Notes font, there is no visible change to references. Still needs to be fixed, though, in my view.1 -

This seems to work well. My only feedback is that 3 is too few. A user could use up all three attempts before they even figure out what they're doing. I suggest 10.1 -
