Richard Bauckham observed a few years ago that genre discussions used not to be standard discussion in commentary introductions but that it has, thankfully, changed in the 21st century.
It would be good to have a corresponding section in the Factbook Bible Books. As an example, Keener's and Lincoln's commentaries on John both have a section devoted to genre.
