Setup.exe takes hours to download

I wanted to do a test run before I committed to L4.
So I began at the page to simply download the free engine. http://blog.logos.com/archives/2009/12/4_ways_to_move_to_logos_4.html
Eight times, the installation failed, and as of now I am over 2.5 hours monitoring the download without a firewall, either Windows Defender or Computer Associates. The latter was removed totally since I began having problems.
There is a prerequisites installer progress bar that has been doing nothing for all of the 2.5+ hours, and I am frustrated. I did a speed check on time Warner cable, and the download speed id 172315 kbps, and the upload speed is 385 kbps.
Naturally, I am on no other websites to minimize the danger of a "naked computer". Before doing this, I downloaded the 2 volume set "Church of Christ" and encountered no problems. I have a E4500 Duo processor, and 2 GB Ram on VISTA (Please no gagging)
I am tired and annoyed; any help given will be appreciated!

Hi John
There might be a clash with Windows Update.
Control Panel | Windows Update and change setting to "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install". Restart the computer and try again.

WOW!
Today I simply turned on the computer, and the download auto ran. Since this is the 9th time, that must be my lucky number! Now to go to the local NYS lottery to bet my money. NOT!

That cleared the conflict. You might still manage Windows Update as I indicated because it can clash with L4 downloads.
