"Bug" Resource Panel Background

Panel background will not turn to paper. It stays white. It will turn to grey but when I put paper it stays white. Attached is the log the phone rep "Anna" instructed me to do. This has been going on for several months now. It used work in paper, was a light orange color then stopped. I thought it was because I was running snow leopard so I upgraded to Yosemite and its still the same thing.

As I spoke with tech support, I attached a couple of photos. I took a screenshot with my mac of the problem and emailed the pic to the rep. When the representative opened the attachment, the photo showed the paper setting is operational in Logos 6. But on my mac, as I am looking at it, it is not working.

So on my iPhone 6+ I opened the attached photo I sent the rep and sure enough, it shows the paper color. Why is it not showing in what I see?

I told the rep to allow me to take a photo of Logos 6 with my iPhone, I wanted her to see what I am seeing. This showed what I was talking about. I took another in preferences to show that I have the paper setting on. However, it looks white and not light orange as paper setting looks. (or whatever the color is, beige or what not)

THe first photo is the screenshot that shows paper setting working, the other two are from the iPhone that show this setting is not working as you look at the display. Help?

I went into system preferences and checked all that out. Seems everything is on stock settings for Yosemite. I have not altered anything. I can't figure it out.

All of my photos, web browsing, videos; all have a nice rich color, no change in anyway. But when I open Logos 6, the paper option just does not work.

Well, I'm probably not going to be able to help much further, as I don't have a Mac and don't understand Macs. Nobody else with a Mac has piped in on this thread to say if they're seeing the same behavior. I cannot reproduce it on Windows.

But there's something called "color calibration" with monitors that is different from the basic color settings that you can change in your operating system. It's a hardware thing, and people who do high precision work with graphics (photographers, artists) need to calibrate their monitor to make sure that a color that is displayed on the screen actually looks like what it's supposed to look like. It doesn't matter to most work on a computer, because a slightly off-white or different shade of yellow isn't going to mess things up for you. But it's possible that the subtle "paper" color which Logos uses is close enough to white that if the color temperature on your monitor is off just slightly (e.g., slightly more bluish than it should be), it comes out looking like white, even though it's encoded internally as a different RGB value than pure white.

The fact that you can take a screen shot and email it to someone and they see a different color than what you're seeing on your screen tells me that your monitor is not correctly showing that "paper" color. It may be a color that is unique to Logos, so that's why all your other apps look fine. Screenshots record what the actual RGB encoding of each pixel is, not what it looks like to your naked eye (or to a camera photographing your screen).

I must confess I don't ever calibrate my own monitor even though I do a lot of photography and Photoshop work, but I probably should. Anyway, I don't know enough about it to explain more to you, but here's an article that talks about color calibration on a Mac:

Thank you, I do appreciate your suggestions. I think I may have to go to Apple and set up an appointment with them. Hopefully someone at the genius bar can fix this for me.
