When I have done a Bible Search in the ESV on the key word "love" the results are incorrect. Usually the verse the comes up is just prior to the verse with the word "love" in it, but the highlighted word is a portion of another word altogether.  If I search in a different translation, the search works fine.

This sounds like an issue with the resource. You could try and reindex it, but most probably the best way is to hide it (from ctrl-right-click in the library), restart Logos, unhide it (from Tools/Settings) and restart Logos again to force download of the most current version and reindexing of the ESV.
