Hi James. Faithlife Groups work great as supplements for small groups and other real-life relationships like families, accountability groups, churches, and ministries because of their strong privacy controls. Unfortunately, those same privacy controls mean that many of the most active study groups are unavailable to the public. However, we are working to improve this experience and make it easier to discover active groups you can participate in.James Amos said:I've been looking for a study group to join but most I find are inactive.
For now, here are some public groups you can join:
Community Study Bible: https://faithlife.com/communitystudybible/activity
Prayer Partners: https://faithlife.com/prayerpartners/activity
Faithlife 101: https://faithlife.com/faithlife-starters/activity
Natural Theology: https://faithlife.com/naturaltheology/activity

I think people should think about them differently than they do these forums. I'm betting that the reason the groups are not that active is people would just rather post/read here. That's my feeling. Unless you have a group of people that want to study one topic or are tied to one small group or church then they likely won't get that active.
I created a sermon illustrations group and posted on illustration, but no one else did. So I gave up on it.

I think people misunderstand the purpose of the groups. The primary purpose is not for an exclusive online community (though that can work) but rather a physical group that meets regularly but is connected during the week online.
