Getting to grips with the Timeline

I have never really managed to get to grips with the 'Timeline'.

Just what is supposed to happen when I click on this flag?

For me it opens up with the year 2000 on the far right of the window and I can find no mention of the Financial Collapse referred to.

This particular flag can be found in Goldingay 'Job for Everyone' expounding on Chapter 15.

(Actually after moving from Wright's 'Christian Origins Series' I should really be grateful to find a flag at all.)

Only when the flag is dark are you supposed to see anything. If it is white it only means a tag is present in the resource but not yet in the timeline.

Ok! [:^)] So as I am a bit thick, could you explain what purpose the White Flags serve and, if possible, why the timeline doesn't even open up to the corresponding date.

In the meantime I will ponder on why having place the tag - it was not worth linking to a corresponding entry on the time line.

Oh, it's worth linking to a corresponding entry. When they get around to making the entry it will be linked. I can't test at the moment but I thought a white flag opened in the general vicinity of the date to give you a bit of temporal context. It may be a Mac issue if it doesn't.

I would have expect 2008 to open in the middle.

Strange for Macs to be behind times; don't you think?
