Is there an easy way to figure out which of my resources are not in collections?
Not particularly easy - depending on how many collections you have - but the only way I am aware of is creating a collection which contains all your resources and then dragging all other collections to the "exclude part"
NB.Mick outlines this at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/73340/511176.aspx#511176

No kidding! Didn't realize I had so many collections. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction; I now have only 79 resources to figure out collections for.

You don't need collections for every resource - just the ones you will use regularly in Searches or Guides. Excess collections creates an overhead as the system has to figure out their content every now and again.
Logos 6 allows you to create temporary collections for Searching based on the same filters you use in Library and collections

I agree with you.

Can you explain in more detail what you mean here?

Collections with rules like title:Greek have to be evaluated so the system knows the titles that are included and that information is cached for efficiency. But the system has to re-evaluate their content from time to time to be sure it is up to date. So if you have a lot of collections and some complex (inefficient) rules this can take an appreciable time. You would notice this most when starting Logos.

Thanks for the explanation Dave. I didn't realize that this would make such a difference when starting but I can now see how that might be the case.
Thanks for the caution and tip. I did have way too many collections; that is now fixed.
